Browse Forums Building A New House 1 May 12, 2016 11:43 pm Hello out there, So this is my first post. We have purchased land at Catherine Park and have been devouring so many posts on here in an attempt to be more informed during our build process. Thought it would be great to touch base with other future St James residents. Anyone else out there lol? majestic35.weebly.com Re: Building at Catherine Park 2May 14, 2016 9:34 pm So I guess I'll just talk to myself for the moment. Nothing new there lol We are quite excited at the news that our land is now at the land titles office! Should be registering in a few short weeks. We are hoping that our house sale goes through just before so we don't need a loan for the land purchase. Can anyone confirm that we have 2 weeks to pay once the land is registered? majestic35.weebly.com Re: Building at Catherine Park 3May 14, 2016 10:55 pm Haha I do a great job talking to myself too on my thread lol. When our land was 2 weeks away from titling we received an email from the developer advising to make sure finance is in order and then given settlement date a week later. Our settlement date was about 3 weeks after initial email. Although I believe they are on the plots where the display homes are being built from what I can tell. I find myself driving past our lot every time I'm nearby even though I know nothing will happen for months. I have no idea why, other than to make myself feel better since nothing much else is happening lol I wonder if this is normal or are there other land stalkers around? majestic35.weebly.com Re: Building at Catherine Park 6Nov 21, 2016 7:13 pm Wow, not many others building here, are there? Anyway, wife and I just dropped some cash on a block in stage 2 last week, registration looking to be in mid Jan next year, really looking forward to building again (we built in Georges Fair 6 years ago), going to be building the EB Drysdale 27. Great to see someone else on the forum building in Catherine park! I tend to hang out on my builders thread and the Oran park build thread since we technically fall into Oran park as our address. I was wondering when second release was looking at registering. Our registration in first release was only about 6 weeks later than expected so I think they are pretty good at their timing unlike Oran park and a few others that can be over a year later than advertised! We are still not at build as the paperwork process with my builder is exhaustingly long but are hoping to be building by March and in before Christmas 2017. It's really busy with builds right now and I imagine half of the first release will be finished and moved in by the time we get in. Good luck with the build, would love to here updates of how it's going. majestic35.weebly.com Re: Building at Catherine Park 8Dec 30, 2016 11:17 pm Rocchet joannapaulp Wow, not many others building here, are there? We've got our tender appointment with out builder next week, then with colours and all our other choices throughout Jan and Feb, we should hopefully be able to lock in a May start date, and hopefully then be in for xmas as well. On the plus side we put a deposit down on a swim spa today, now to convince Eden Brae that they want to lay the slab for it for us.... Re: Building at Catherine Park 9Feb 04, 2017 8:06 pm Hi! I'm new to this forum I know this forum is old but I do need a bit of help. I'm in the process of doing paperwork and I'm building with Allworth homes. They asked me to obtain landscape design with the backyard and the house in it to get approved and to include any sheds, shrubs etc in it. Allworth homes suggested I go with a professional landscape designer which will cost me around $400 at least. What are you opinions/experience? Any help would be great! Building at Catherine Park 11Feb 05, 2017 3:16 pm Our builder included the landscaping quote and plans in the tender (cost over $800!) I have seen people do it themselves but I didn't want the bother or have the time. It needs to be approved by Catherine park (assuming you are building here) so bringing the building guidelines for the estate with you to any appointments would be a good idea. majestic35.weebly.com Re: Building at Catherine Park 12Feb 08, 2017 11:55 am Thank you for the help! I've asked other people and some have even hand drawn their landscapes. I've tried doing it on my own on Word but it's just too hard! I'm very tempted to draw the landscape now. Re: Building at Catherine Park 13Feb 17, 2017 9:52 am Hey there, building at Catherine Park too, we're in stage 2 and our land is registered. We actually only recently put our deposit down and settlement is coming up within the next few weeks, in the mean time we got the ball rolling with our builder and got them to do a tender for us Re: Building at Catherine Park 14Feb 17, 2017 9:59 am igzzz Hey there, building at Catherine Park too, we're in stage 2 and our land is registered. Our land settles next week. Who are you building with/what are you building? I've read some review on Champion Homes and I'm a little nervous, as some have been terrible but you get some good reviews too. The house design and layout is actually perfect for our family so we decided to take the risk We previously built with Mirvac, so I don't think Champion will be worse than Mirvac.
