Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Oct 19, 2018 6:42 am Hello everyone, TLDR version: New CSC assigned to our job has little to no response. Not attending the phone, not returning calls, not replying to emails, not forwarding enquiries to consultants, basically not doing the 'coordinator' part of her job description and it's delaying us to finalise the variations documents. What are my options? Long version: We're building with Metricon which is at post contract stage and we have requested for few variations for both electrical and colours. Everything has been going smooth up until we received no response from them for 2-3 weeks (this was about a month ago). After failing to contact our then CSC several times, found out she's left Metricon and the job is assigned to someone else. Now to give you bit more context, this is our 3rd CSC within 6 months time, and so far whenever a new one is assigned they've always contacted me before and informed about it (except for the newest CSC). Now this is when the problems appear. Our new CSC never contacted us, she never attended calls or returned calls or even reply or acknowledge to emails that we have sent her so far (for a period of 3-4 weeks now). We are still awaiting for the contract variation we have requested over a month ago and found out two days ago she had not even sent our enquiries and change requests to the colour and electrical consultants (I had to contact the consultants directly and ask about the progress and thats when they said they have not received any, which is when I directly sent them the enquiries). This is very upsetting as we need to wrap up all variations and get a final cost for the build as it is needed for next steps such as loan application etc... Has anyone faced such issue with a builder? What did you do about it? What are my options regarding the new coordinator with little to no response. At this time we're not confident going forward with her. Note: Just to be clear, I'm not blaming Metricon here, so far it's been very pleasant experience and just this new CSC that is making things difficult for us. Regards, M Re: Metricon CSC very slow response. What are my options 2Oct 19, 2018 8:06 am The CSCs often have far more customers than they can handle. The best thing to do is escalate. You can call reception and ask for their supervisor if you arent getting anywhere. We ended up dealing with one of the operations managers. Re: Metricon CSC very slow response. What are my options 4Jan 27, 2020 5:34 pm We just finished our build with Metricon. And repeated saw the same issues that you're having. We had 3 different site managers over the 10 month build, as they would quit abruptly. I would only find out someone had quit because there would be no contact on weeks on end. When I'd try to contact the Site Manager's Manager, I'd get no response. The only way I got responses was to call the Metricon general number and ask how I can escalate or make a complaint. Then someone would get back to me within 1-2 days. The multiple changes in site managers resulted in certifications being missed by Metricon. Metricon are still running around figuring out how to provide the certifications - even though we're well past handover. Now that we're finished the build phase, this behaviour from Metricon continues. The CSC doesn't respond to phone messages or emails. We are having some MAJOR defects (concrete blocking drainage pipes), and they don't even respond to formal emails requesting timeframes and plan for resolution. I called to escalate to the CSC's manager - they don't know much more than the CSC, and are giving us the same run around. Unfortunately I'm at the point where I'm getting lawyers involved now. To anyone who is considering building - DO NOT BUILD with Metricon. I regret building with Metricon like you wouldn't believe. 1 13039 Hi - thanks for your reply.
