Custom Private Builder Referral?

Would anyone be able to PM me a quality custom builder they could refer. We are looking to build in Melbourne's east and would prefer to use the services of a private builder, however without a referral not sure where to start?

Any referrals would be much appreciated.

Good luck Radiuz, sorry I can't help, I am out in the north west of Melb and after months of research, first into project then custom builders - we decided to just do it ourselves!!

One of the things we did was drive around looking at houses under construction in our area and noting the names of the builders, we would also stop and chat to any tradies or people around that were willing, thats how we got a few names in the first place...

I know a few that build out in the east. Unfortunately these builders do their own projects. I will ask my partner if he knows anyone tonight.

Yes we have been noting the names of builders from their display boards on sites, but you ring them and often they don't get back to you. Its also still a bit of risk to base your choice without a referral by someone who knows the builder or their work. We are also considering owner building, but still need a good builder to work with.

I went out onsite today for lunch and had a chat with my partner and one of the builders. Sorry the builders my partner knows seem to only do their own projects. Good luck with your search though.
