Unfortunately there has not been much progress. Since our upper roof went on around 6 October, we have had some upper eaves installed, some rendering and lower roof tiles on. All up about 4 days work in six weeks. We have been promised for a month now that the eaves carpenter would come back and do the lower eaves and all the Sycon to the front bedroom and the two bedrooms at the back and he just never turns up. The week before last we had our electrical rough in and our air conditioning rough in even though one third of our upper floor has no walls. Is this normal? We did a walk through last week to go through the electricals. At the time we were told the eaves carpenter would return that afternoon or this Monday to complete his work with insulation to go in today. After driving past tonight we, discovered again that the eaves carpenter never showed up. This might be a stupid question but with the severe weather forecast for tomorrow should we be concerned about the amount of water that will likely end up in our in our home and damage to the electrical and airconditiong rough ins? Our gyprock has also been delivered but is not fully inside the garage area so will also likely be damaged with tomorrow’s rain. We are considering getting an independent inspection before sheeting commences. Can anyone recommend an inspector and at what stages we should be getting inspections. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Re: Building with Wisdom Homes 2Nov 28, 2018 2:19 pm Mish There are so many things to answer in your post The main points are: 1. No. Only the plumbing rough in should be done before the building is watertight. Especially the electrical wiring can become damaged. For this reason what Wisdom have done is very unusual 2. yes the gyprock will become damaged if wet 3. getting an inspection done before sheeting is a great idea. They especially need to ensure that the frames have been straightened properly otherwise once the skirtings and cornices are installed you will see bowed walls good luck S Simeon McGovern Affordable Custom Homes, We design and build to your budget Ashington Homes www.ashingtonhomes.com.au Re: Building with Wisdom Homes 3Dec 10, 2018 12:53 pm Mish018 Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Thought I would post some progress photos of our build. We have had some great progress since this was posted Dunk85 Cladding has been installed and painted (although our gutters now have paint on them due to painter not taking care) Sheeting and plastering have been done as well as waterproofing. Kitchen was supposed to go in tomorrow but we ave asked for this to be delayed until our home is at lock up and have requested our kitchen be painted before cabinets are installed. Hi Mish, Do you have Wisdom Homes's price list for electricials, including the alarm system? I have been trying to get this from them for ages and for reasons I don't understand, they will not provide me with it. You can see my posting here: viewtopic.php?f=1&t=94262 Kind regards, Jaya Can someone please offer some advice? Im DESPERATE. Because I'm completely and utterly exhausted.
