We have semi gloss grey tiles, and a super high gloss shiny white herringbone splashback. We have chosen matte white cupboards. I'm thinking we should have gone silk finish? Here is a photo of gloss with matte and i dont mind the look, but worried its going to look too cheap next to all the gloss i have Re: Coral Homes modified Noosa 25 Far North Coast NSW 86Apr 01, 2019 7:42 pm Rhani89 Write reply... I like what I see in the photo............ if that is your look then its fine. Re: Coral Homes modified Noosa 25 Far North Coast NSW 87Apr 12, 2019 2:30 pm Has anyone been required to put a fly screen on their front door? All through our build process this was never mentioned. And i can bet my bottom dollar that the displays wont have fly screens on their front doors. Also what happens to people who opt for the bifold stacker doors for indoor outdoor living? Another $500 for something we dont want Our covenants has been approved now for weeks and sales wont send the approved document through to our pre-site even though it has been requested multiple times. We also requested a while ago to have our tap moved from the side of the house to the back for a future pool and this was not done. So now its back to variations. Not having a good week. Time and patience is one thing, but when things arent done properly is another and we havent even broken ground yet Re: Coral Homes modified Noosa 25 Far North Coast NSW 88Apr 12, 2019 3:07 pm Rhani89 I'm really starting to second guess our kitchen choices. Here is a photo of gloss with matte and i dont mind the look, but worried its going to look too cheap next to all the gloss i have I regret now for not going silk finish for our burnished wood. It looks dull next to the silk finish white. Infact I wasn't even aware burnished wood can be done as silk finish. We r just double guessing all our colour choices except for roof, gutter and fascia. We both are so bad at imagining colours. Saying that it is our first home and these things we can change anytime. We still love our open kitchen. I m sure you will somehow make everything work together after u move in by adding things here n there and you won't even remember u were regretting for that colour choice 😊 Re: Coral Homes modified Noosa 25 Far North Coast NSW 89Apr 12, 2019 3:09 pm Rhani89 Has anyone been required to put a fly screen on their front door? Time and patience is one thing, but when things arent done properly is another and we havent even broken ground yet We did put a security door for entry. Tat was our option and nobody asked us to put. It usually take 4 weeks after council approval. You can speak to coral home representative regarding this and I m sure they will help you out. Time and patience is one thing, but when things arent done properly is another and we havent even broken ground yet Hi Rhani. The fly screen on the front door issue popped up for us right at the end. Coral backed down but I'm currently in battle with my Certifier and council over the issue. They won't give us a final occupation certificate until we've got one. It's the way that both DCP and development consent conditions are being interpreted. I've dug my heals in and am not budging. I keep telling them reasons why it's impractical to screen and that the front door is not used for ventilation. Adequate light and ventilation is provided by other openings when the door is closed and the front door provides an effective mosquito barrier when it is closed. I've got a 1,200mm wide entry door and I'll be damned if I'm going to wreck it with a screen door. Council are actually being more flexible than the Certifier who is trying to force a black and white interpretation of the DCP and consent condition. My Certifier is PCG. I'm feeling quite peaved at them over this issue. If you don't want a screen door dig your heels in. Call and complain to council. Complain to Coral. Even tell Coral that you want another Certifier. Give them reasons why it's impractical to screen. Include in your reasons that more new homes haven't had the condition imposed on them than have and that you consider it unfair. The more of us that push back the more likely we are to keep screens of our front doors if that is what we desire. If you can't win in the first instance tell Coral that you will put on an owner supplied screen. At the end you will get an interim occupation certificate with the screen door being a requirement for a final occupation certificate. You only have to send a photo to the Certifier. Buy a $60 cheapie on EBay, put it in position, take a photo, send it in and when you get your final occupation certificate put the screen door in the scrap metal bin. I've heard of others who didn't even do that. They just photo shopped a screen door onto a photo of the front of their house, sent it in and received their final occupation certificate shortly after. On your other issue; drafting is Coral's weakest link. Keep riding them and you will get their eventually. I have requested that we put down owner supplied to buy us time to battle it out with council. It’s just so stupid. We will only be using out front door for entry and exiting, which will require the fly screen to be open also. We too have allowed for plenty of ventilation in the home and were never intending to use the door for ventilation. I’m just sick of people dictating what we have for our own home. Especially when it is double standards! Re: Coral Homes modified Noosa 25 Far North Coast NSW 93Apr 13, 2019 3:58 pm The issues continue through the build unfortunately. We are over 6 months now 3 weeks since pci and still not in! We couldn’t get the keys without the occupancy certificate, and they wouldn’t give us an interim one either. So jealous you got your keys Brad without the oc! We have security screens on all windows and doors on our place, it was one of the reasons I didn’t upgrade the door. We told them about the mistake in the ensuite vanity well before Xmas and it’s still not fixed! They also missed our linen shelves and gave us the smaller mirror. At this stage I don’t think we will be in before Easter 😕🥺 Re: Coral Homes modified Noosa 25 Far North Coast NSW 94Apr 13, 2019 6:50 pm Tash801 The issues continue through the build unfortunately. Re: Coral Homes modified Noosa 25 Far North Coast NSW 96Apr 18, 2019 1:56 pm We received our final variation for signing today and are now complete with Coral admin. Suprisingly Coral have been hassling our bank for the authority to commence construction letter which isnt ready yet as we are still waiting on final approval (should be any day). It really is feeling so close, but trying to stay level headed and realise we may still be in for some delays with Easter coming up and all the closes for public holidays. Still.. good news that things are progressing and we are done with admin Re: Coral Homes modified Noosa 25 Far North Coast NSW 99Apr 19, 2019 5:03 am Rhani89 We received our final variation for signing today and are now complete with Coral admin. Re: Coral Homes modified Noosa 25 Far North Coast NSW 100Apr 30, 2019 12:07 pm we are still waiting on ANZ to give us unconditional approval. Our loan application was submitted on the 3rd of this month and they are saying they have delays because of the public holidays. I dont even think they have looked at our application yet. This is becoming a circus. We have coral sitting there ready to give us our start date as soon as we receive the letter of authority to commence, and the banks still havent looked at our application.
