I'm also thinking of building with Simonds. (Mahogany 2400). Which area are you building in? I would also appreciate if anyone can provide some feedback on simonds homes. May be someone who has built recently. Thanks Mihir Re: Anyone building with Simonds Home 4Oct 09, 2008 12:10 am I am currently building the millbank 2900 with them, almost done, due for final inspecton next week, we have had lovely service all the way through, and if small problems have happened, or we notice something is wrong at the house our site sup is always more than happy to fix it straight away.
cant recommend them enough, they even went out of the way to accomodate us with letting us visit often so our 5 year old autistic son can get used to the idea of moving, and get the house into his head (as routine change is a big thing with him) I would build with them again in a heartbeat. Thanks 5Oct 09, 2008 8:50 am Hello Miss Piggy,
Its indeed a relieving feeling to know someone has a good expereince building with simonds. Well with us, we haven't had any bad experience with them so far, just for few things we found that they were not cooperative enough (especially making changes to the design). We have bought a corner plot and Mahogany 2400 is the perfect design for our plot. So the design is excellent as well as the standard inclusions and the promo I've been offered. One of my really good friend has also bought the land in the same estate as mine and he is currently finalising his contract with Dennis homes. We have been comparing each others inclusions, products and prices. Thats where I got confused. But it seems like its just matter of how we handle all the situations and be proactive to get our work done. Well, lets just hope for good. So which area did you build in? Its good to hear that they allowed such provision for you so that your son can get used to the house. I really appreciate your response. Thanks Re: Anyone building with Simonds Home 6Oct 09, 2008 1:10 pm Simonds were more than happy for us to do changes, we did a LOT of extra inclusions also (Approx $30,000 worth) and they were more than happy to let us change things, we changed kitchen cupboards, added microwave spot, splashbacks, upgraded oven etc, did upgrades to laundry, changed the linen cupboard to have a broom section on the side, tiled showerbases, we got carpets, floorboards etc (the quote simonds gave for the floorboards were actually cheaper than the quotes we got independantely)
They were always happy to help out. We even changed from the solor water to a gas instant flow, with temp controllers in the bathrooms (so our son cant change the water temp if we were not looking ) and although we were taking something from the 5 star rating, they were more than happy to do it and make up the star rating another way ( they told us to instal get them to do a water tank which will be to flush the toliets and that equalled the star rating back up to 5 stars) We are buliding in Geelong, our site supurvisor has been more than happy to help with anything, we just give him a call and he is on it. When we went to the gallery to pick things, there were some upgardes we were not sure if we wanted to get now or later, they were also more than happy to give us a price and let us decide over the next couple of weeks before the final plans were done if we wanted them or not. We put $1000 in the original quote for electrical upgrades, and when it came time to add more lights, powerpoints, tv points etc, we used that to pay for them, and the left over was credited to our account. The floor/wall tile selection was also helpfull. Lady was more than happy to help out, as we had no ideas what to do, and they were happy to either let you pick from the standard range or upgrade to different ones and pay later (which we did not do as the standard range was fine) but we did add a row of glass tiles in the shower and paid the extra for that weeks later. I really have had no problems whatsoever with them. We had our first customer service office, who did not really no anything when we asked him, without shecking with someone first, but he was new and soon left, our new one is great, but we learnt early on just ring the site super straight off and he is great. Hi All, we are starting to think of building with Masterpiece Builders in Victoria, has anyone had any feedback or experience with them 0 13483 We already paid for somfy motors for the blinds. The quote above was purely for “pre-wiring” so the blinds company can install the motors and blinds. That’s why we… 5 16088 Wish you all the best. Once you signed the contract, they will find millions excuses to charge you. And have seen their sites unfinished for a long time. 4 24806 |
