I would ideally want something before the plaster covers everything where that to be, electrical, points etc or framing structure/slab then a final one before I sign handover They do: Slab inspection Frame inspection Pre Plaster Pre Paint/Fixing Final inspection Re: Most important inspections to do from third party inspec 2Sep 24, 2018 2:52 pm Patrick Hey guys I want to get an independent inspector in to inspect my build Ideally I would do all of them they offer but cannot afford all of them So Id like some recommendations on the most important ones? I would ideally want something before the plaster covers everything where that to be, electrical, points etc or framing structure/slab then a final one before I sign handover They do: Slab inspection Frame inspection Pre Plaster Pre Paint/Fixing Final inspection When I spoke to an inspector they recommended 2, PCI of course and the one after frame stage, after rough ins, roof on and the wrapping. Inspection services are conducted in accordance with the Building Code of Australia and Australian Standards AS4349, and further focus on actual on-site construction standards and workmanship. Note that they do not check your specifications & variations ie, colour/design choice etc, they will however inspect that all items are completed to a satisfactory standard. Re: Most important inspections to do from third party inspec 8Sep 24, 2018 8:58 pm Your most important inspection is pre contract review I don't see the value of pre paint /fixing inspection The purpose of stage inspections is to verify work at critical points of your build, if you miss some you will take a risk Foremost Building Expert in Australia, assisting with building problems/disputes, building stage inspections,pre-contract review advice for peace of mind 200 blogs http://www.buildingexpert.net.au/blog The worst thing you can do is sign a building contract without a pre contract review. Over the years many people have come to me with disputes where they just signed… 0 8351 I would send it to the certifier who is technically your representative and working on your behalf not the builder's 1 2281 Thank you. That is really helpful. Once we get the place done and passed for OC we can upgrade in the future once we get back on our feet and not paying mortgage and rent. 4 5745 |
