Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Oct 10, 2018 1:19 pm Hi, We've just received an initial estimate of costs from our builder and it's left us reeling a bit. Our design is a fairly modest two bedroom, one level home and we've been quoted $27,000 for plastering. Bearing in mind we're using concrete panels, the only plastering will be on partition walls and ceilings (2 bedrooms, utility room, kitchen/dining, living room and two smallish bathrooms) I'm at a loss to see how it could be this much. We've asked for a more detailed breakdown of costs (the quote is $300k above the limit we agreed with our architect/project manager - i.e., almost double!! so we want to look very closely at all estimates/quotes) but, in the meantime, does this seem reasonable? Any rough ideas on what a 'standard' cost might be for plastering partition wall/ceilings (all rooms of modest size, no ornate work)?
