Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Aug 19, 2018 9:44 am Hey everyone, I’m currently building a home in Bunbury, WA. My brick work has finally finished, however I am not happy. I have chose a certain type of brick, and paid extra for it. On the contract it states “provide restoration brick 1c to entire home.” They have done this everywhere, Except, For my Garage outside wall! My Garage is under the same roof! so now from the outside of the Garage I won’t see the Brick I’ve chosen I’ll see just the plane brick! Please look at the photos to see what I mean how the bricks are different. Can I make them reimburse me, or make them fix this. I’m away for work at the moment so I can’t go see anyone about it. Any help is great! Re: Need to know law 5Aug 20, 2018 1:23 pm The face of the brick is on the outside on the outer walls and you're only seeing the inner face (which is plain red) on the interior of the garage. The restoration red brick is not painted on both sides, only on the one face. A garage is not usually built double brick, so in order to have the face on the outside of the garage you've got a plain face showing internally. Hope I've explained this. If you check your building plans it will show a single facebrick wall to the garage with pillars built internally. Re: Need to know law 6Aug 20, 2018 3:50 pm It is standard that they put the face brick on the outside of your garage so that it looks goods from the street. We have two walls with the face brick on the inside and one with face brick outside however some have blue lines, once cleaned they all just blend in. Re: Need to know law 7Aug 20, 2018 10:51 pm but it seems Kunder is saying from the outside you don't see the face side, although the photos look like the inside of the walls.. I agree the inside walls of the garage would normally not show the face side. I had an old shower unit that broke on me and when I took it off, there were only 2 water pipes, instead of the normal 2 water pipes and a shower head pipe.
