They have a development of their own in Catherine Park / Oran Park . House comes ready to move in as full turn key and depending on market you can negotiate free ducted and blinds. Pretty decent quality and they respond well to warranty and issues. Checkout their estate to view quality. Just be aware you will pay full stamp duty as its one contract I said after the 1st build “ never again “ & now im on my 3rd Re: Edgewater homes 4Aug 14, 2020 6:25 am [quote="Aim100":2bh9ajia]I recently found a ready, built to buy home in Marsden park, built by EWhomes around 700k mark. Looking into getting one theyre building at Leppington Willowdale stage 13. Price is reasonable but since the design is pretty much set, im concerned about what well get at the end. Thanks Re: Edgewater homes 5Aug 14, 2020 10:34 am The parent company is Henley homes who had a lot of issues under the name Henley back between 2005-2009 when they had a lot of issues building and from memory the Governing Body put independent inspectors to oversee their works and had to fix a lot of issues with their builds which led to them closing down. They have resurfaced a couple of years ago under the name Edgewater which they purchase bulk land in blocks and than develop them with their homes and sell them off when they are close to being finished or completed. This way their is no interaction with customers during the build and building 4-6 homes side by side is easier and quicker to build. We looked at them but I noticed that the bathrooms are done the old fashion way. They have a built up hob at the shower area so they can can have fall to the tiles inside the shower as this is built up and is higher than floor outside. The bathroom floor tiles are direct stuck to the concrete with no fall at all the main areas of the bathrooms. This makes the floor generally level if concrete is good but when we looked the slope of tiles went towards the doorway into the hall. The person told us that they didnt need fall outside the shower as the drain in the bathroom was classed as an " inspection point " not a drain. Any water in the main areas of the bathrooms, WC or laundry will not go into drain as these areas have tiles stuck to concrete only. We walked away after that as it didnt seem right. This is how they achieve to have floors all level throughout the house. The proper way to have level floors is to recess the slab in the wet areas by approx 50mm than screed to make sure all falls towards drains to bring tiles and other flooring level so their is no step up into bathrooms. Ask for references and speak to them. If they are defensive or try to avoid the request, walk. 1 74702 I would never build with Fowler homes.
