Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Aug 09, 2018 12:53 pm Hello all, We are building a new home in North Kellyville and recently received our BASIX assessment. We received a bushfire attack level BAL-12.5. In the documentation it states the following: Provide 1No.hinged aluminium safety door to front entry door including installation, lock & diamond grill & aluminium mesh. Does anyone know if this is compulsory, and if so, is there any way around it? i.e. changing the front door, or anything else that will avoid having an ugly screen door on the front of the house? Appreciate any help or advice. Many thanks, in advance. - Adrian Re: BASIX Requirements / Hinged aluminium safety door 2Aug 09, 2018 1:27 pm We're BAL12.5 and we've had no requirement to add a screen door, though our actual front door is compliant.
