Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Coral Homes Daydream 28 Far North Coast NSW 42Sep 18, 2018 4:56 pm Hooray!! Congratulations on arriving at a major milestone Tash. We got our construction certificate this week so fingers crossed we get our start date soon. Steve is the SS for a couple who are building in my estate. Their build has progressed through to commencing brickwork. They have been pretty happy with Steve but they have also commented that they don't see a lot of him. They check the site daily themselves and report problems to him. They have told me that Steve is fairly responsive to resolving problems that they bring to his attention. If they weren't checking the site daily, however, these problems might have been overlooked as Steve doesn't visit the site very often. Re: Coral Homes Daydream 28 Far North Coast NSW 43Sep 18, 2018 6:00 pm Finally a start date! So exciting Steve is our SS, I was with him today. He visits the site more than you think, he just doesn't tell you about it He looks after all the houses between Alstonville and Kyogle/Casino so he's super busy at the moment. He's really experienced and a really nice guy and gets on top of things when there's a problem, but he can be hard to get a hold of. Just know that his office day is Wednesday, that's when they all get together to go over any problems and you'll get an email most Wednesdays to update you on where things are at. The best time to call him if you need him is around 7.30am before he starts his day otherwise he's often in meetings with tradies or the owners. If you do notice things, don't feel bad to let them know straight away to prevent more trouble down the line. That's what I told Joel and Em which is why they constantly update him lol. He said today that it's going to be crazy leading into Christmas with a huge number of houses, they've had to get help from other supervisors to cover it all. Be nice to him and he'll be nice to you - the very best advice I can give you. Re: Coral Homes Daydream 28 Far North Coast NSW 44Sep 18, 2018 6:51 pm Good to hear he’s nice, one of the things I was worried about was telling him if there was mistakes as I know they happen easily. I will probably visit the site often, I have to drive past 4 times a week. I don’t think I’ll be able to help myself! Can’t wait to see it coming up Re: Coral Homes Daydream 28 Far North Coast NSW 45Sep 18, 2018 7:10 pm AlstonvilleBuild Finally a start date! So exciting Steve is our SS, I was with him today. Thanks for this info and great advice Sharni Re: Coral Homes Daydream 28 Far North Coast NSW 46Sep 19, 2018 6:52 am No worries, happy to answer any questions you have along the way. There will be many! At our final walk through there were a couple of rooms where the carpet looked stripy, we found out yesterday that there is none of our carpet left in all of Australia! We have to replace the whole house! lol Re: Coral Homes Daydream 28 Far North Coast NSW 48Sep 25, 2018 4:22 pm Tash801 Is the coral build near you Brad coming up fast? Hi Tash, The block for the nearby Coral Home was cut 27th July. They had brickwork completed this week. So I suppose its not going up all that fast. For the sake of comparison a nearby GJ Gardner home of a similar size has gone up and lot faster. Re: Coral Homes Daydream 28 Far North Coast NSW 50Sep 25, 2018 6:52 pm Tash801 Ok great thanks for letting me know wondering if it depends on ss I don't think so. Availability of trades and HO scheduling probably has more to do with it. But I'm just making assumptions. Re: Coral Homes Daydream 28 Far North Coast NSW 51Sep 26, 2018 10:39 am 100% right Brad, all about the availability of the trades. We are still having to have things fixed and the carpenter had to come on Saturday because he is so flat out. Re: Coral Homes Daydream 28 Far North Coast NSW 52Sep 26, 2018 1:34 pm Yep probably. My friends are building in the area and have a different ss and they seem to be going super quick! I think they started around July as well and they are up to painting and tiles Re: Coral Homes Daydream 28 Far North Coast NSW 58Oct 04, 2018 4:47 pm Tash801 Finally got our start date 10th October.
