They look very nice The colour is Latte and type of blind is "focus". The solarview is alabaster. And the reason why some are inside is that in the kitchen window due to the pantry door we had to put it inside the frame so thought it would look best if both windows in that room were the same. and I forget to put up a photo of the venetians in the bathroom.. too dark now and my camera is flat.. so will do it another day.. Re: WakeboardAndy's house. all moved in.. pics of blinds 12/7 663Jul 12, 2009 7:15 pm Andy did you end up getting starserve installed? I looked through about 20 odd pages and I couldn't see photos of it. If you have it how have you found the setup so far? Interested in how you are going to wire up your house to share internet etc Re: WakeboardAndy's house. all moved in.. pics of blinds 12/7 664Jul 12, 2009 7:22 pm Zerosignal If you have it how have you found the setup so far? Interested in how you are going to wire up your house to share internet etc nah didn't get starserve installed. I had no need for it. Just got a 6 way splitter for tv/fox and it works perfectly.. loving the full signal digital fta without the need for an antenna.. And for networking just have wall plates in the garage. Plug the data from the ONT into my WAN router and then plug ethernet cable from router to gigabit switch and then from gigabit switch patch into all the rooms I want connected up. Been streaming HD MKV 1080p movie files from my pc to ps3 and works beautifully!! Re: WakeboardAndy's house. all moved in.. pics of blinds 12/7 665Jul 12, 2009 7:28 pm Sounds awesome - that is what I want! The more I think about the starserve setup the more cumbersome I think it is. I still have not satisfactorily resolved the following connection.. Fibre ONT - > Router - > Starserve Box/Hub - > Various Datapoints in the house. Firstly I need to find a gigabit switch that would fit in the starserve cabinet, I can handle the router being mounted outside on a wall in the garage. How do you have everything setup in the garage? Is it all mounted on the wall? Re: WakeboardAndy's house. all moved in.. pics of blinds 12/7 666Jul 12, 2009 7:32 pm Zerosignal How do you have everything setup in the garage? Is it all mounted on the wall? I just bought a floating shelf from bunnings which I bolted into the wall and I sit the router and switch on that. But it doesn't look the prettiest with cables hanging everwhere but it works and garages aren't meant to look pretty anyway. I'll take a photo later when I finish off some work stuff. Re: WakeboardAndy's house. all moved in.. pics of blinds 12/7 667Jul 12, 2009 10:54 pm Congratulations on the move!! loved the blinds. I am also building a Caraway and currently on frame stage. Just wondering how much did you spent on your driveway? Am trying to get a quote on that at the moment. Re: WakeboardAndy's house. all moved in.. pics of blinds 12/7 668Jul 12, 2009 11:25 pm Hi Andy, Thanks for the info mate. I am currently still deciding between Focus Blockout Latte and Cotton. Congratulations on your fast build and bid move Stephen Williams Landing Stage 10 - Kingwell Neighbourhood Re: WakeboardAndy's house. all moved in.. pics of blinds 12/7 669Jul 13, 2009 8:05 pm Zerosignal The more I think about the starserve setup the more cumbersome I think it is. Also been working on my smart wiring plan. I've been talking with Nat from Smart Wiring Australia and also been doing some research of my own. I think I've come to the same conclusion on the StarServe system. With my current setup I run everything through a PC. I want to do the same in our new house. So... I'm thinking of buying a server rack to put in the garage to store all the equipment. In here I will have a dedicated PC for TV, Movies, etc.. The PC has a HDMI out which I will run to LCD's wall mounted in the Family and Master Bed (maybe one day the kids rooms if they are lucky). This will all be controlled by a wireless mouse. Given our house is not overly big this will eliminate the need for equipment and lots of tangled cords taking up precious space inside the house. TV: ONT ---> PC ---> HDMI splitter ---> family and master bed Internet: ONT ---> 24 port switch ---> patch panel ---> various data points throughout house Phone: ONT ---> patch panel ---> data point in master bed I've gone for a 24 port switch as I plan to have other devices in the rack such as PC dedicated to storage, etc What do you think?? Any suggestions would be helpful. Your house looks beautiful Can I ask where you got the flowers in the vase on your table???? I've been looking for nice ones like that for ages Re: WakeboardAndy's house. all moved in.. pics of blinds 12/7 672Jul 15, 2009 9:30 pm mattym Zerosignal TV: ONT ---> PC ---> HDMI splitter ---> family and master bed Internet: ONT ---> 24 port switch ---> patch panel ---> various data points throughout house Phone: ONT ---> patch panel ---> data point in master bed Sounds good to me. One thing I would do for TV is ONT ---> Splitter ---> PC ---> HDMI Splitter. Just adds a little more versatility to your setup if you want to branch out the raw HD feed. I can't believe how quick the internet is.. it is much faster than ADSL and there is no overheads (ie. normally you lose 20% on ADSL). I can't imagine how quick it is going to be when it is updated to 100Mbps.. Re: WakeboardAndy's house. all moved in.. pics of blinds 12/7 676Jul 16, 2009 8:15 am Thanks Andy, I'll keep my eye out for something similar! Also, do you have any info on the current prices?? did you get the Telstra credit? Thanks Matt went with 12gb liberty 20Mbps. It is very expensive at $109.95 a month and I can't get my normal 20% staff discount on velocity, so I'm not happy about that. But by the end of the year it is being upgraded to 100Mbps and aligned with cable plans, so the pricing should be alot better by then. And yes I got a $1500 credit. (with the help of my dad ) We got the Daytek retractable clothesline.. http://www.daytek.com.au/clothesline_retractable.html It was $150 cheaper than the hills one (hills is 6 lines). It is 5 lines and can go up to 7.2m wide. I set it at about 6.5m wide. Cost $336 for post to post setup like in my pics.. It is cheaper if you do wall to wall or wall to post. We also have had two sides of our fence go up, just awaiting a retaining wall to be done next door before we can finish off the fencing. Anyway if anyone in the doreen/mernda area would like to have their clothesline installed just call me on 1300 wbainstallyourclothesline and I will be happy to give you a quote. Also bought some bark from mernda garden centre.. amazing how much nicer things can look after a little bark.. http://i238.photobucket.com/albums/ff285/agardner5/IMGP3963.jpg clothesline with line retracted.. http://i238.photobucket.com/albums/ff285/agardner5/IMGP3965.jpg clothesline with line wound out..
