(...researching stuff on here is being addictive) Congratulations to you and your family. I spent hours last weekend going through 5 months worth of posts and watching your house being built from scratch. It's been great following your progress over this time. You have built a wonderful house and I love your colour selections (tiles/bench tops) We settled our block about a month ago in The Ridge, Doreen, but have yet to decide on a builder. It was a toss up between JGK and DFH. You have swayed us to go with JGK. Thanks for sharing your story/journey. Cheers Rowena. Re: WakeboardAndy's house. all moved in.. new pics tue 30th Jun 626Jun 30, 2009 9:34 pm Congratulations Andy !!! Awesome build time...awesome home...awesome theater....awesome territory Re: WakeboardAndy's house. all moved in.. new pics tue 30th Jun 627Jun 30, 2009 9:38 pm Congratulations on the big move. That is one big screen Enjoy your new home Re: WakeboardAndy's house. all moved in.. new pics tue 30th Jun 628Jun 30, 2009 9:39 pm Rowena Hiya, This is my first post on homeone!!! We have been very happy with our build and love the area... I actually enjoy not having a fence at the moment as you can just sit here and watch other houses being built all day from our lounge suite.. I also can't recommend our SS enough.. When you get to the build stage ask if you can have Nic B assigned as your SS. Your post also makes me wonder how many other hundreds of people have read my thread that I don't know about.. If you are reading this and haven't joined the forum.. join up and you will love it!! Kinda a weird the whole cyber space thing... Thanks for the tip of the SS. It's great to have someone recommended. We will go with the sales office at Doreen as it is closer (makes more sense). Although I went out on Sunday and they have had a change of sales person. Went to home show earlier on Sunday and a guy was telling us to stay clear of the big builders and go with a smaller coy. Too confusing. Will go with JGK. ...Can't wait to see photos of your landscaping...Have you made plans for the garden? Re: WakeboardAndy's house. all moved in.. new pics tue 30th Jun 631Jun 30, 2009 10:02 pm Congratulations WBA...your house looks awesome and l really like your HT room. Wishing you many years of happiness for you and your family in your lovely new home Re: WakeboardAndy's house. all moved in.. new pics tue 30th Jun 632Jun 30, 2009 10:39 pm the woolies is also very good here... and prices are much cheaper then my supermarket near where I used to live and it had a coles next door to it. They also have some very good specials at the moment... only thing that is annoying is having to drive back to yan yean rd and bridge inn rd to get over to plenty rd... will be great when the bridge opens in a couple of weeks.. Re: WakeboardAndy's house. all moved in.. new pics tue 30th Jun 633Jun 30, 2009 10:42 pm Congratulations, the house looks fantastic you must be very happy!! Re: WakeboardAndy's house. all moved in.. new pics tue 30th Jun 636Jul 01, 2009 10:59 am Congrats on the move. I am so envious of your cabling and home theatre set up. I've sent an email to hubby with your piccies and told him he needs to emulate that. You've set the benchmark for him Re: WakeboardAndy's house. all moved in.. new pics tue 30th Jun 637Jul 01, 2009 12:20 pm Congrats Andy. We drove past your place the other day -by accident and i thought , wow i've seen this house before! Then i realised it was yours We are loving the new woolworths too and looking forward to the Plenty rd entry - does anyone know when that will be open? Built in Laurimar with National Builders - Cottesloe 28E Re: WakeboardAndy's house. all moved in.. new pics tue 30th Jun 638Jul 02, 2009 2:30 am Sorry mate that it has taken us so long to add to your new pics and move. And welcome as a neighbour, albeit a neighbour in the long way around until the road is finished. House looks grand and that theatre room is huge, wish we had ours that big. The screen is massive, what size is it, I think it must be more than 100 inches?? We watched Angel and Demons the other night and then Slum Dog Millionaire on weekend. It was great. I know what you mean about the fence thing. Even though everyone can see in, it was nice to have a view of everything. Although the good thing for us, a little of our noise has been cut down since we got it put in. Oh and thanks for loading our pics on my "Urgent seeking render colour help" post. I have no idea why I cannot loads pics for the moment as they are way smaller than the allocated amount. I hope the admins will look into this! So you are now part of the landed gentry. You must be so pleased. We will need to be garden pacers now. Although I think we are about one month away from a design as we have a few other things to contend with and you already have soil delivered. Are all your appliances and connections working well? Keep an eye out on the solar panels. The guy who did ours didnt do the connector properly and it started flowing water. Fixed now, but NB said he had a similar issue on another property. Also we found that the cable to do the split system was only 20 amp, when its meant to be 32. So they are coming today to rewire. A few annoying things like gas cooktop not working since the aircon man was here, painter came last week and said would be back to fix touch ups and doubt we will see him for a while. It's not that we mind, but we just dont want to be forgotten and have to stay in all the time to wait for ppl to fix things. Our hush glazing is to be done in the bedroom as the test room, so we will see how that goes today. And I so know what you mean about never moving again. Although we are considering a beach place, but said to DH we will have to furnish it, as I am not moving a thing!! I hope you are happy in your new place. I still pinch myself and keep waiting for someone to knock on the door and say , it's not really ours and please move out. And the unpacking takes for ever. It's good to see too that ppl can read your true story and help them to decide on their builder based on your experience. I think we both have been blessed with a really good experience, for us some hurdles. but it has all worked out well in the end. It was great. theatre room is only small... but it is still amazing how it feels spacious in there for such a small room.. but it has 2 huge armchairs and a bean bag... 90% of the time it is just me in there... I watched gran torino from a bluray rip (great movie) and I watched walk the line on bluray.. I also bought dark knight on blu-ray and will watch that fri night.. been watching some HD BBC documentaries on oceans and they look awesome on the big screen... screen certainly is big and gives you a near cinema like experience.. It is 108". And yes slumdog millionaire is a great movie.. and I also loved angels and demons.. Quote: Are all your appliances and connections working well? Keep an eye out on the solar panels.
