The house has been thoroughly washed and looks lovely and clean. Got our keys this morning, removalists booked for Monday. There’s still things to do though - last coat of sealer for driveway tomorrow, louvres for opening roof to be installed on Monday. But at least we can start moving in. Re: Hamptons inspired architect design with attached granny 245Jun 26, 2020 5:35 pm Looking brilliant. Love the eclectic mudroom hooks. Hey a quick question on your entrance hall cabinet: did you get LED lights in the glass-front display section and if so, are they just installed as a globe at the top or as a strip down the sides? Thanks! Re: Hamptons inspired architect design with attached granny 246Jun 26, 2020 6:51 pm jsmi Looking brilliant. Love the eclectic mudroom hooks. Light would penetrate more to the lower shelves if that large item wasn’t on the top shelf. But really I find the light is quite sufficient. Hi All, hope you’ve all had a good Christmas and were not too affected by the Covid restrictions! Did anyone’s build actually meet the ubiquitous “Christmas deadline”??? We moved in around 6 months ago, and everything’s been pretty great so far. A couple of design/layout tweaks I would have made in hindsight, just things that could only be picked up by living in the space. But they’re very minor. My biggest regret was not getting the electrician to hard wire LED strip lighting for outside Xmas lights! The passive solar design and orientation has been spot on, we haven’t had to use the aircon for heating/cooling yet except for the one day temps were above 40c and no southerly change came through. We had it on for a couple of hours before bed. All other times we’ve just used the fans. Just before we moved in our builder staged the house and took some professional photos which I have attached. https://www.capitaloneprojects.com.au/hamptonshouse Rather excitingly, Colorbond featured the house in an Instagram post! Well done for the great journey and happy to see that you are enjoying the way you wanted Build cant be 100% perfect so don't stress too much about missing the point for Xmas lights. May be down the track there would be some new technology called wireless electricity Enjoy ! Re: Hamptons inspired architect design with attached granny 257Dec 03, 2021 11:26 am UPDATE! So our builder entered our house into the Master Builders Association NSW Excellence in Housing Awards 2021, and we won our category!
