I’m having floating floor boards installed, but the guy doing it insists on ugly expansion gaps and trims across several doorways.
It’s so bloody ugly, but he says it has to be done.
So my question is, did anyone else have this done too, or is there another way around this?
Any tips, suggestions would be welcome, as well as some photos if you could.
Thanks so much!

What do you mean across doorway.
Normally floating floorboard don’t need gaps except for the edge against the wall but need to ask someone more qualified.
I’m doing solid wood flooring and it needed an expansion gap every 6 metres on the long edge.
