Has anyone built with Rawson? We are in Dubbo NSW which is about 5 hours from the city and rawson out here are the most expensive builder. They also have a reputation for not being the best quality aswell which is odd because they are very expensive. Re: Best value for money home builder 3Jun 26, 2018 2:31 pm I'm building with Rawson in Newcastle and I've been very happy. I haven't had any concerns about the quality - the only quibble I have is that the site supervisor isn't great at updating us about delays etc. That said they're making great time and I would, at this stage, definitely recommend Rawson. I think a lot of building seems to come down to the tradies you get in the area. Re: Best value for money home builder 4Jun 26, 2018 4:45 pm Ashi, have a look at some of the general build threads, there’s one for Rawson, Metricon, Wisdom, Masterton etc.... They all have people complaining about delays in the admin stage. Remember most people who put up a review do so because they are unhappy. Many many years ago, we built with Beechwood twice, the first time was very easy, no issues at all, 4 years later it was hell, we had to go to the building services corp (like fair trading) to get work fixed etc. So same company with very different outcomes. Just remember that the people in the display homes are salesmen/women so they want your business, they may fudge a few things especially timelines. I went into Rawson the other day and the guy told me from initial appointment to start date would be 3-4 months!! Haha that will never happen! Re: Best value for money home builder 5Jun 26, 2018 9:21 pm Thanks heaps guys. yes will keep checking the reviews.. it is very confusing.. we like facades of some houses but layout is not great and vice-versa .. will check display homes again this Saturday.. EdenBree homes layout is also good but facades are not modern.. Will keep you updated on our journey 🙂 Re: Best value for money home builder 6Jun 27, 2018 10:03 pm We got tenders with New Living, Beachwood and Allworth Allworth was best value and we are having handover in a couple of weeks.
