Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Jun 24, 2018 12:00 pm Hi dear friends, I'd like to ask about your experience. Before my builder started to build, my CSA sent me an email and advised me to ensure grass is mowed and no rubbish on block. I went to the site time to time and check if there were not much rubbish. The site was reasonably clean, there were very little bit of sticks and little rubbish, but I didn't know if this would be an issue. A few weeks after that my CSA sent me a photo and advised that there will be an invoice for cleaning the site. I checked the photo and there were some sticks, so I thought it shouldn't cost more than $100. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ I feel like my builder is asking me to pay to remove not only the rubbish, but also the soil as well. Why they wouldn't clean the site first which will cost much less and charge only that? Why they did tell us earlier this is an issue, so we can clean it up ourselves. Sorry it sounds like complaining, but this makes me really down. I feel the builder tries to find every way to charge us. Thank you so much for your help. Hope you have a great weekend. Regards, Peter Re: site cleaning charge before build commence 2Jun 24, 2018 5:10 pm Site scrape should be part of your normal sites costs so I wouldnt expect an extra charge for them to do that. Re: site cleaning charge before build commence 3Aug 01, 2018 4:00 pm Thank you so much balckcat20 and so sorry for replying this late. I thought to reply after getting back from my builder. After I mentioned that the mix fill should be site scrap and it is included in my contract, then they say they will have a look. After that I never get a reply from them regarding this issue. If you already have a contract, is the inspection cost stated in there? If not they would be forced to issue you a variation which you could of course object to. 12 25847 We have a new build and need to clean bricks around a newly constructed deck.
