Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Dream home build in the Southern Highlands 2Jun 21, 2018 9:48 pm Well I’ll follow along.... We have just bought 1.5 acres in northwest Sydney. Looking at building with a small custom builder, meeting with an architect next week, to get the ball rolling. GJG have lots of great plans, they seem to have built quiet a few around our area, including the Montvile, great plan! Look forward to seeing your modified Montville Re: Dream home build in the Southern Highlands 5Jul 27, 2018 9:35 pm The Montville is a beautiful grand home, have you got your final floorpans yet? That flooring looks great! Re: Dream home build in the Southern Highlands 14Sep 14, 2018 12:36 pm Selections look good so far! Is your land registered yet? Ive just had a conversation with GJ Gardner in Dural, Sydney, we like one of their plans, just wanting a back up option if our custom design comes in too expensive. GJG seemed very easy to work with (understand there are different franchises, so maybe pot luck!). How long have you been waiting on plans? Our land was meant to be registered end of this year, now looking at march next year (at least), so still plenty of time, but like you everything takes so long..... Re: Dream home build in the Southern Highlands 15Sep 14, 2018 12:41 pm My one concern with GJG is having to use Beaumont tiles due to outrageous costs for upgrades etc We dealt with them briefly on our last build, and Ive vowed never again. Luckily GJG in Dural use two different companies, so I’ll use the other one, if we go that route. Have you got costings for your tile selections? Re: Dream home build in the Southern Highlands 17Sep 14, 2018 1:25 pm Oh wow, maybe I need to move things along with my current builder, we are taking our time currently. I’m just not sure if I should pay the initial deposit with GJG and move things along then have two tenders etc to compare. The only thing is they’ll be very different, so not so much comparing, just having two options at different price points. If I can save time now, it will save money in the long run... Re: Dream home build in the Southern Highlands 18Sep 15, 2018 9:30 am Looks good seechange !! For us, we have our colour consult coming up, waiting on building permits, and then we are hopefully on our way and watch it all happen. How did you go with your floor plan, did you change it a lot ? |
