hi guys,
Does "Guaranteed Completion" offered as a standard from every builder?
We like Henley's Verve line at the moment, but we're worried about them not offering the guarantee.
Anyone know if Henley offer such thing?

So you might be in luck!

Nope, my builder has a window for completion thats written into the contracts, and if they go past that date, then he has to start compensating us. Why do you want a 'guaranteed completion"? If the builders are behind on doing your house, would you like them to rush? But on the flip side of the coin you dont want them to going at snails pace either. Re: Guaranteed Completion 7Sep 16, 2008 12:02 pm We are still renting at the moment, so for the period of about 6 months we will be paying rent AND mortgage at the same time.
I've read in this forum stories where builders took their time on completing the house. I guess I need that peace of mind that this won't happen to us. Re: Guaranteed Completion 8Sep 16, 2008 12:04 pm Every builder that has an HIA or Master Builder contract has a "guaranteed" completion date. The contracts a fixed length and you get compensated if they go over that date. BUT, you have to prove it was their fault, and the compensation is laughable.
So in short, a "guaranteed" completion date is reliable providing that the builder is reliable....In reality, it is just more marketing, because everyone offers the same thing Alan and Thuy in Melbourne Building a second time! Like I said the Occupancy Certificate is not the tollgate that marks the completion of the house. The contract defines… 7 10715 |
