Browse Forums Building A New House Re: KDR - Rawson Chifley 42 mark ii in Newcastle. 161May 26, 2019 6:35 pm A quick update. We basically had two weeks of nothing. So disappointing. Not our SS fault, trades that have been booked just aren’t showing. The thing is though, a display home that Rawson built near us that started at least a month after us is finished, landscaped and all. Pretty obvious Rawson care more for themselves than there existing customers spending there life savings with them. Only things we got where a gas meter, stone benches and basins. Oh and the brick piers for the alfresco finally got finished. 😔😡 Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Re: KDR - Rawson Chifley 42 mark ii in Newcastle. 163Jun 02, 2019 7:17 pm Melos Wow. It’s really coming along. I love your kitchen selections. Thank you. Re: KDR - Rawson Chifley 42 mark ii in Newcastle. 164Jun 02, 2019 11:19 pm I like the raised roof in the alfresco. Is that standard or something you asked for? Be interesting to see how the lawsuit against all the artificial stone manufactures affects future builds or costs. Its obviously bad news for the actual stonecutters regardless. Re: KDR - Rawson Chifley 42 mark ii in Newcastle. 165Jun 03, 2019 8:27 am luxbuild I like the raised roof in the alfresco. Its obviously bad news for the actual stonecutters regardless. Just standard I think. We did extend the alfresco but didn’t ask for anything special ceiling wise. Hadn’t heard about the lawsuit. What’s that about. He is one of scores of stonemasons who have joined Slater and Gordon’s national class action against manufacturers, as authorities brace for a health crisis that could be worse than asbestos. Slater and Gordon spokeswoman Margaret Kent said the largest stone benchtop suppliers – Caesarstone, Quantum Quartz and Smartstone – did not adequately communicate the severe safety risks or convey the necessary safety precautions." Re: KDR - Rawson Chifley 42 mark ii in Newcastle. 167Jun 03, 2019 9:33 am Good. It’s about time the building industry addressed its safety standards and recognised the silicosis issue in a similar way mining needed to deal with black lung. Long story short. Rawson in Newcastle built a display home in the now very expensive suburb of merewether. It’s currently complete including landscaping and was to open last weekend. This place was stared a month after ours and we have just had a month of rain days and public holidays added to our build and we are still at least 2 months away from handover. Our build is a 5 minute drive from the merewether house. ANYWAY. The Newcastle council have come back and said, “sorry changed our minds, can’t use it as display home in its current format. Turn that garage back into a garage. 😂😂😂😂 That’s what happens when you 💩 on your paying customers to serve yourselves Re: KDR - Rawson Chifley 42 mark ii in Newcastle. 170Jun 13, 2019 8:45 pm Update time.. So over fighting to get 💩 done. We believe that if we didn’t constantly press the SS, stuff just wouldn’t get done. No urgency from anyone from Rawson. Our SS has to many jobs and can’t possibly keep an eye on all the jobs. 9 out of ten things that are supposed to happen never happen. We have worked out that of all the things we have made payments for only two things are actually complete. That is the slab and the frame. Bricks and skirting/architraves not complete. Painter due tomorrow but heaps of things not complete or missing such as bulkheads. So paint and try and get them back to finish. Just like the brick layers, can’t seem to get them back. 😡😡😡😡😡😡😡 Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Re: KDR - Rawson Chifley 42 mark ii in Newcastle. 172Jun 14, 2019 12:36 pm rocet74 Hi Salfield Can i ask who your SS was? G’day mate. We had dale who resigned and caused most of our delay. We now have Greg. He does a good job but has to many jobs and or trades aren’t turning up for him. Just a, “anything happening for us this week?” Type of call. Dale used to answer email, but Greg doesn’t. Greg answers phone calls, but dale didn’t. All I can say is don’t be afraid to keep on top of them, without being to painful, which is a fine line. 🤔😁 Re: KDR - Rawson Chifley 42 mark ii in Newcastle. 178Jul 09, 2019 10:54 pm Re: KDR - Rawson Chifley 42 mark ii in Newcastle. 180Jul 10, 2019 9:01 am luxbuild Those vertical shower niches are a good idea.
