Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Jul 06, 2018 5:41 am Hi everyone, Just wanted to get your thoughts regarding your experience with Wisdom. We have been informed by our csr that there are ongoing admin delays. Wisdom has given us 19th July as the tender presentation date and that is almost 2 months since we advised Wisdom about land registration. If the beginning of the process is like this not sure what to expect if we sign the tender. We are getting extremely nervous and are thinking of pulling the plug. How was your experience with the admin? How did things go after you signed the tender? Re: Tender presentation delays 2Jul 06, 2018 7:24 am The admin stage is usually the worst stage with any builder, it can take weeks/months for things to happen, what you say isnt that uncommon unfortuantely. I guess what seems simple for us, isnt that much to these builders. Where are you building? Just as a observation with Wisdom (I'm not building with them) we have 1 building next door to us and another down the road. Both houses have sat there with no work for months, the one next door sat for nearly 4-5 months with not a single bit of work going on. Apparantly the bricky decided to take off for 6 weeks holiday and then had a backlog of work when he got back, add in a dispute etc and bam your 3-4 months easily behind. I think Wisdom may be taking on too much work...but thats just a observation from whats around me Re: Tender presentation delays 3Jul 06, 2018 9:23 am zooch84 ...... may be taking on too much work...but thats just a observation from whats around me Boooom and that is the problem. Your building contract doesn't take effect until work actually commences on site. If any builder experience delays, cost increases out of his control, etc then he may well ask for price increases to the contact in the form of Variations.
