Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Feb 26, 2020 3:56 pm Rawson Home Review Thought to post our experience with Rawson Homes Central West branch. We started a tender late last year (2019). So far everything has been smooth sailing between Dubbo and Bathurst offices. Recently completed council submissions (2-3 months total ) this is councils delay on their part. During this time we chose colors of externals and internals. upgrades and extra's etc... everything is as what they had said so far. Wouldn't mind a bit of transparency with some prices but i do understand this can be difficult on most trades such as kitchens bench-tops as every change can effect something else but with doors or general house fittings a price list would be nice. We did notice their prices seem to be quiet expensive compared to other big builders in comparison for the base home. Base inclusions are none..... like down-lights , flooring, Ducting ... I will add though walking through their display homes they seem to to flow better in design then their competitors. The little things do matter. you get bulk heads added through out the home. Most facades at this time of writing are under are $8000 which is good ... have been quoted higher from other builders on these. Soon to be expected to lay slab. Re: Rawson Home Review 2Mar 02, 2020 8:54 am Hi Parle, its wonderful that you have crossed the Pre-construction phase and now on journey of construction. I am also building with Rawson in Schofields and have recently finished my plan presentation. Look forward to see what design you have gone for and your color selections. All the best for your home journey. Keep posting. Vin Re: Rawson Home Review 3Jun 12, 2020 6:11 pm parele Rawson Home Review Thought to post our experience with Rawson Homes Central West branch. Essentially the sales time takes about 8 months plus. Don't know if this is common but I believe Rawson are a little slow on returning info on various things. Just recently introduce to our site manager via phone... He seems to be informative and easy going at this stage so that's cool. No obvious issues at this stage. Building experience a lot better than pre-sales. 32 square house 1 level Just for any one who is curious: Everything takes about a week ( really 2-3 days) with waiting times in-between stages. etc: Frame- 1 week Roof - week Windows 1 week Bricks - 1 week plus Gyprock 1 week etc Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ It is true that a builder can ignore your independent inspection report as it is not part of the contractual arrangement but that is stupid because he cannot avoid fixing… 9 47197 The worst thing you can do is sign a building contract without a pre contract review.
