Browse Forums Building A New House 1 May 07, 2018 10:56 pm Hi Homeone forum, I am building (currently in the council approval process) in the NE suburbs of Adelaide and unfortunately did not anticipate the costs involved in buying on the slightly lower side of the road with a slightly less than flat block i.e. stormwater/retaining! Our soil and engineering report came back with extensive stormwater requirements - full 2000L retention/detention tank with sump etc. (~$9,000) our FFL is 99.70 and stormwater outlet appears to be at 99.80. Is there anyway around this? Can we just get a sump and not get the retention/detention? It is in Campbelltown council. Also, the retaining costs are much more than we had expected ($17,000 including fencing) given the block is seemingly flat (99.89 at the front and 98.83 in the back corner). Any recommendations? We've also had limited replies from contractors so any business recommendations would be appreciated. Thank you all!
