Where did you buy it from, as when I googled them, the companies in Aus are quite obscure. Also where did you buy your door handle? do they have other types as well? I bought my two locks from US eBay sellers, but they are available from the Australian Apple Store, which hopefully is less obscure. megg Also where did you buy your door handle? do they have other types as well? I bought my handle from an Australian eBay seller. I'd have to find the details if you are interested. Re: Smart lock with door handle for entry door 23May 09, 2018 2:41 pm megg Oh and I forgot to mention in my research I found out there is a WiFi adapter, which means anyone with either an iPhone or android can remotely view, open or lock the door. It's only available in US at the moment, buy hopefully they will become available to us in Aus I have the WiFi adapter too, but haven’t installed it yet. It is a US plug, but multi-voltage so will work in Australia with a simple adapter. I wanted it to get Amazon Alexa support inside the house. However, I mostly unlock the door as I arrive home through CarPlay in my car, and it’s working remotely with Siri because we also have an Apple TV, so I haven’t felt the need to use the WiFi adapter yet. Perhaps once we settle in more and I start using Alexa more I might give it a go. We liked the keypad option as our older folks are not very technology literate. August is primarily a retrofit product, whereas the Schlage is built from the ground up to be fitted to a new build. In looking at smart and motorised devices to use in our home, I found quite a few that tend toward retrofit rather than being use in a new build, and this often presented limitations. BTW, I have a brand new August lock if you would like to buy it. Quirmeball1280 We liked the keypad option as our older folks are not very technology literate. Just for the record, August has a keypad and also a camera option, which were very compelling.
