Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Fairhaven Homes 482Apr 07, 2019 5:42 pm There is nothing below the green box, the aircon installers just left the box there after installing the condenser unit. Seems like SS may have misunderstood as well, have to contact him about it again tomorrow. The refill system is under the silver sticker thing on brickwork, which is under the aircon concrete. The termite system was included in the build, did not upgrade it. Which termite system did you get? Just looked at the standard inclusions and the termite reticulation system is in there under the base section. Re: Fairhaven Homes 483Apr 07, 2019 7:03 pm If one of the refill point is gone, it does not impact you overall because all the refill points connect to the same common system. Atleast this is my understanding of it. When I got it, reticulation system was not included in standard base contract. We only got spray done around the perimeter of the house. Re: Fairhaven Homes 484Apr 08, 2019 12:51 am sunrays CalicoCat Overall, I will not be building with Fairhaven again. Whom will you build with in future? I believe they all are the same. I agree, I think most are all like Fairhaven or worse. If I build again, I would probably go with GJ Gardener as they have a good reputation here (and I think a cousin of mine is a site supervisor with them). I would also consider Stroud Homes. Fairhaven Homes - Clovelly 191 Re: Fairhaven Homes 485Apr 08, 2019 9:26 pm Bronte19 @geontrey Yeah all settled in. Still getting used to the commute. Had our 90 days inspection- no major issues just some paint touch ups. Bathroom ventilation is not a issue as we are used to it. Also both of us work so dont spend lot of time in the bathroom. Good luck with the next stages Bronte19 Anything you wished you did differently that we should consider? Framers booked for tomorrow 🤞 it doesn't rain all day. Sorry for late reply just returned from overseas. We honestly had a great experience with Fairhaven and would definitely build with them again. I would hire independent inspector next time I think which I believe you are doing anyway. Howz your build going? Is the framing completed yet? Re: Fairhaven Homes 487Apr 21, 2019 2:44 am Hi Bronte19 Where did you go overseas? Holiday or business? We have a frame and roof trusses. Such a slow process for us with every house around us going up so quickly. Darbecca did inspection on Wednesday so 🤞 everything gets fixed quickly & satisfactorily then hoping they can move ahead at a quicker pace. Having independent inspector would slow down the process as well BUT it would be totally worth it in the long run. Good luck for rest of the build. Wow that would be lovely to tour Japan 🙂 Well our 1st inspection couldn't have held anything up because everything was fixed while the Inspector was there on site. Hi Bronte19, do you have any more progress picture by any chance? We are about to build Fairhaven bronte191 also and would love to see pictures instead of looking at the plan! I uploaded few photos on this thread while we were building. They should be on the previous pages Re: Fairhaven Homes 493Jun 04, 2019 7:10 am Hey GEOnTREY, how is the build going? I had my 3 month inspection a few days ago. It went well. Only a few issues, mainly the carpet which they will be sending out someone to fix (there are lots of lump and divots. I have a couple of spots in one of the shower niches that is missing grout so that should be getting fixed too. I'm still waiting on getting my stacker doors replace, I suspect that is due to the communications between A&L and Fairhaven. My house is starting to settle so I'm getting a few cracks, mostly in inconspicuous places. Other then that I don't have much to say. Due to financial constraints I haven't been able to do any landscaping or concreting. Though, due to the rain we have a lovely water feature developing in the backyard Fairhaven Homes - Clovelly 191 Re: Fairhaven Homes 494Jun 06, 2019 11:37 am CalicoCat Hey GEOnTREY, how is the build going? Though, due to the rain we have a lovely water feature developing in the backyard Hi CalicoCat Glad to hear you don't have too many faults 🙂 Is it your site supervisor who does the 3 month inspection or someone else? Did your bricks get fixed satisfactorily? Was it you that had power points fitted in the corners. Are they ok? I actually want some right in the corner (on our electrical plan) but they have put across on the next stud. We can't even manage to get to lockup. Our build is SOOOOOOO slow! Houses all around us are almost finished and they all started after us. We have an unplanned swimming pool as well, like a sinkhole, it keeps getting bigger. Our pre plaster Darbecca Inspection is today at 1.30. Hope they don't find more errors to hold us up even more. We are still waiting on things to be fixed from the first & second inspections. It sure is stressful but hopefully worth it in the end!
