So much for me to look forward to. (Have I mentioned that they have started framing the ground floor of ours today?) Reading your blog gives me great insight into how my build is supposed to progress. The wife was quite impressed that I told her at the end of last week that timber was set to be delivered (and it did!) and that they would start framing this week (and they did!). I am suffering from some "blog-envy" though. 1. I like what you did with the outdoor area extension. An inflating budget at selections hindered me from pursuing the outdoor expansion. I had been thinking about just adding it on after the build (as landscaping) but started questioning myself about asking M to do a similar extension after I saw your plans. Oddly, I now have the budget for it but obviously its now too late for M to include it in the build. I'm looking at something like a Vergola as my rear is north facing. 2. Hebel. Didn't even consider it. I refuse to read about it lest I end up kicking myself further. - Nice. The joinery / cabinet-maker copied a lot of the color scheme that we used. The dark shade (burnished wood) with the white handle-less drawers / panels. Even the kitchen benchtop stone pattern and the island design (with the shelving) was similar. At least I know that our design matches and looks nice! Didn't even consider it. I refuse to read about it lest I end up kicking myself further. - Nice. Thank you. Haha don’t worry, I’m not that far ahead of you. You may even pass me Yeah I love getting told dates and going past seeing the trades there doing there thing putting the pieces together. But I will say, sometimes it doesn’t happen due to weather etc and as you understand if it’s out of there control, it’s still annoying. Haha. I have also driven past and had many times where the house has just sat there and it’s a nice day. That is the most frustrating thing Thanks. Yeah we love the outdoor extension. It did cost a bit, but not breaking the bank. Just wanted to be under the main roof. No I haven’t heard of vergola. Will have to look it up. I’m sure it will be excellent. I wish we had north facing rear yard. Would be perfect but I can’t change it now. I do love my location though As for the hebel. That was strangely one of the first things we upgraded to. Not sure why, just heard good things about it. We actually wanted hebel flooring too as it’s great soundproofing and so solid under foot. But the 15-20k by memory got the sword in the end as many other things. Can’t have everything otherwise you could spend up to a million in a second. Good luck with framing. I think ours took about 6 1/2 solid days work. So you will be looking at a house in no time Metricon Franklin 53 modified Re: Metricon Franklin 53 modified 132Aug 15, 2018 11:20 pm dunkintoo BTW, have you been to the Franklin 40 display in Lightsview? We also have burnished wood in our selection. Plus kitchen is 2pac with handleless but only on overheads not below bench. That house is beautiful. If yours is mirroring that, it’s going to be so nice. So many nice features Metricon Franklin 53 modified Re: Metricon Franklin 53 modified 133Aug 17, 2018 11:18 pm Looks so big coming along nicely. Did you get to see inside yet? Can’t wait to see what you put in it? Re: Metricon Franklin 53 modified 134Aug 18, 2018 11:24 am Doulton777 Looks so big coming along nicely. Did you get to see inside yet? Can’t wait to see what you put in it? Yeah it is large. Most of everything we picked is on the first few pages of my thread. I’ve seen inside many times. Still just framing at this stage as my SS wants all external done first. I was at the house yesterday helping my brother with the electrical side. Yes! So lucky they allowed my brother to do the whole fit out. I did nothing technical as I have no idea but just drilling all the wholes for wire run at 1st fix and put on all switch and power point back plates. So when they come for first fix, they can just concentrate on running everything. Save a days work then. Don’t mind being a lacky and learning Metricon Franklin 53 modified Re: Metricon Franklin 53 modified 137Sep 21, 2018 9:56 pm catelise Sorry just realised you haven’t finished your build yet!!! Hey catelise, I wish my home is completed. While to go yet, but will post many pics at different stages Metricon Franklin 53 modified Metricon Franklin 53 modified 138Sep 21, 2018 10:06 pm Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ I know it’s all the pics I have atm but with only a bit of paint to go, balcony balustrade and lighting, our facade is nearly done Electrical and security all done now, only air con and insulation to go. Then we will have plaster. Can’t wait. Pics of inside to come when this happens. Metricon Franklin 53 modified Re: Metricon Franklin 53 modified 139Nov 12, 2018 4:05 pm Pic overload.
