Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Apr 18, 2018 1:36 pm Hi Guys, So we're needing to pick tiles this week for ensuite/bathroom/laundry/toilet. My original idea was - Floor to ceiling tiles in the ensuite (Ivory/cream colour - same tiles for floor & ceiling) Floor to ceiling tiles in the bathroom (light grey - same tiles for floor & ceiling) Toilet and Laundry - floor tiles in white. However our builder has advised that generally ALL tiled floor areas are generally the same colour throughout the entire house. So now I'm worried that I've picked 'too many' colours for the house & it may look too 'busy' or messy? The main bathroom, toilet & laundry are basically all side by side - would it look silly if they're not matching?? Help please! We went with charcoal tiles on the floor in the ensuite, bathroom, toilet and laundry, but they are different shape in each (well, common in the toilet and laundry). I don't think it looks messy/fussy/wrong. Re: Tile colours - help!! 5Apr 18, 2018 8:02 pm Jennifer1978 Hi Guys, So we're needing to pick tiles this week for ensuite/bathroom/laundry/toilet. I prefer to see the one colour and tone throughout with wet areas. But there is no rule to follow on this. Like I always say, its your home, if it makes you happy, do it. BUT....serenity and calm is also nice in all homes. If you stick with one colour with all your wet areas you can then change the towel colours and nick nack's per space...this will help them look different. Hope this has helped.
