I seem to be getting varying costs depending on the builder Re: N3 wind rating 2Jun 03, 2018 10:59 pm Hi Builder2018, It will all depend on house size, frame construction, single/double, roof type plus probably a few more things. Anyway, our 2 story 37 square colourbond roof house was an extra $2,600 for extra bracing/strengthening due to W3 from W2. I will need to query the builder as we have been quoted a bit more than that for a 270m sq average house. Re: N3 wind rating 5Jun 05, 2018 8:21 am Builder2018 Good idea, More info required, Is it a framed trussed or pitched Stick roof, ask for a copy of the Engineering Drawings/details check Hold down, Bracing, Shear walls, increased glass thickness, etc,etc and post back The problem with wind loading details/construction is if it's not "structurally certified" by an engineer you may have problems with Insurance claims in the event of storm damage.
