And i should expect my slab by end of April. House next door to my lot being built by Urban Edge homes already has a slab now. Re: Building Hamilton 230 with mimosa homes 3Apr 10, 2018 11:59 am Hi Yasir I have been following your other posts, where you mentioned Mimosa homes is not fixing your site cost as Manor lakes guys didn't provide you Level 1 compaction report, what is the progress on that front ? How much is Mimosa going to charge you for total site cost (bored piers ,rocks etc)? I am curious as I also have lot in stage 165 at Lollipop hill and interested in choosing Mimosa as our builder. I believe previously we were talking through that facebook group(Building with Mimosa), but looks like it has been deleted. Re: Building Hamilton 230 with mimosa homes 6Apr 18, 2018 12:50 pm Key Dates: Contract signed for lot : march 2017 Contract signed for house: september 2017 Lot settled: 15 Feb 2018 Geo Survey Report: 28 Feb 2018 Building permit was issued on 28 Mar 2018 UPDATE: still no slab.. i was asked to come in and select carpet again as it was discontinued and laundry taps. Did that yesterday. Was sent final plans today to sign. Re: Building Hamilton 230 with mimosa homes 7Apr 26, 2018 11:12 am So I called Mimosa and left a message for my post site consultant. She called me back saying that fencing, bin and toilet have been delivered to site and they will start site scrape next week and then plumbing, electrical and piers in following weeks. I should expect slab by mid to end of May. I told her straight away that this is taking way too long and she said the delays were pre site and since she has gotten my file she is trying her best to get things done as quick as possible. I personally believe this is absurd but can't do much at this time. Re: Building Hamilton 230 with mimosa homes 8Apr 26, 2018 2:25 pm Hi There, I am also planning to build with Mimosa and I have paid the intial deposite. I will also share my experience and updates. An question, have you opted for any private building inpector during the build, if so how is it going? Regards Firsthomebuyer2018 Re: Building Hamilton 230 with mimosa homes 9Apr 26, 2018 2:28 pm firsthomebuyer2018 Hi There, I am also planning to build with Mimosa and I have paid the intial deposite. I will also share my experience and updates. An question, have you opted for any private building inpector during the build, if so how is it going? Regards Firsthomebuyer2018 The build has not started yet. And i have not hired a private inspector yet. Might do for a later stage. Re: Building Hamilton 230 with mimosa homes 10Apr 26, 2018 2:43 pm Thanks. What did they tell you about hiring private inspector? They told me that I have to pay $250 everytime when they have to deal with Private inspector as an admin fee which I found redeculous. None of the builder charges for the private inspection. Seems like scare tactice by Mimosa to not allow customers to indulge in private inspection. Do talk to them about this in advance. Let me know how you go. Re: Building Hamilton 230 with mimosa homes 11Apr 26, 2018 2:49 pm Yes they are charging that fee for newer contracts. I don't have that in my contract. Some one was mentioning that some other builders are charging that fee as well Re: Building Hamilton 230 with mimosa homes 12Apr 26, 2018 2:54 pm yasir_fnd Yes they are charging that fee for newer contracts. I don't have that in my contract. Some one was mentioning that some other builders are charging that fee as well Thanks for the info. I dont find this ethical and morally right. Need to talk to them. If they do their work right then we dont have to hire private inspector. But sometimes all the builders do the crapy job and we need someone to keep an eye on them. I have found, mostly all the builders cut corners either Carlisle, Mimosa, Henley, PD, Burbank or Metricon. So its like "My way or No way". Re: Building Hamilton 230 with mimosa homes 13May 01, 2018 11:53 am UPDATE : I visited my site on Saturday and found I was informed incorrectly about things being delivered to my site. No work has been started on site yet. Remember my lot settled on 15th feb. I emailed the person who gave me the update and she has not replied back. Can't believe mimosa are absolutely crap at site starts. With this speed, I can only dream about settling in my new home before christmas now.
