I have been advised, by the inspector, that he will require the engineering plans in order to do his job effectively. The more I think about it I too would also like to know what they are building and in more depth than the general plans that I have been provided with. I have contacted the builder's representative and have been told that they will not releasee the engineering plans citing intellectual property concerns. Just looking for knowledgable input before I speak to someone higher up in the business. Thanks in advance Mark Hi Benno123, we’re also currently building in WA our building inspector asked our builder directly for engineer details (hoping this is what you mean) and our builder sent them through not a problem along with our addenda and final plans, can the inspection company ask them directly? Hoping it gets sorted out for you Hi Vanessah2015, thanks for your input. I'm just educating/arming myself for the upcoming discussion I intend to have with the builder regarding the engineer detail. I'm sure it will get sorted but I hate going into discussions with no real knowledge of the subject particularly given they have indicated they will not supply the information. Thanks in advance Mark If you were asking you were asking a window company for a set of engineering drawings as to how a window frame was designed to comply with a wind or fire rating they could claim IP if it had specific seals etc... I have had 3 versions sent to me from my engineer to make sure I'm happy with how it is to be done so rhere are no issues at certification. Cheers, Pummers. Re: Engineering plans 7Apr 06, 2018 9:15 pm Benno123 thanks Pummers. I'm slowly but surely educating myself on the whole building process. Assuming you've modelled the TB8, TB10, TB12, TB2 & J1 joists/LVLs there, it appears as per drawing to me. There maybe should be an additional J1 between TB10 and T12 if… 3 31828 Thanks for all replies. I just noticed now the pictures I added to post right on top of page were wrong. I attached pictures showing "current" and my "suggested" floor… 9 14644 Really tight at the top of the stairs- how to get furniture into those rooms? Study books - does anyone really use them these days? Large storage closet would be more functional. 2 6885 |
