Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Mar 30, 2018 10:07 am Hi everyone We have 6 master bedroom designs. Can you please let me know which one you think is the best? Don't let cost be a factor, just let me know which is the one you prefer if you could have any! Thanks everyone Master Bedroom 1 This is the smallest and probably most simplistic. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Master Bedroom 2 This one removes the bath (which we will probably hardly ever use) and also separates the basins for a "his and her" feel. The toilet moves to the front and the shower becomes a "walk in shower" with no frames at all. The shower has a bench and two shower heads from the ceiling. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Master Bedroom 3 The bedroom becomes much bigger with this option and the walk in robe moves to the left and becomes a much bigger robe. Again, there is no bath and the shower and toilet are hidden behind the basins (no door on toilet). The shower, despite the picture, would be "walk in shower" with no frames at all. The shower would have two shower heads from the ceiling and a bench if there is room. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Master Bedroom 4 The ensuite remains the same as number 3 in this one. However the bedroom moves to the far left and walk in robes move to the middle with "his and her" walk in robes....walking through both of these lead to the ensuite. When you enter the master you are presented with a nice dresser/mirror...somewhere to sit and do your hair and keep jewellery etc. This is the second biggest master suite out of the 5. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Master Bedroom 5 This is the biggest ensuite and incorporates a similar design to number 4. The difference being it has a free standing bath in the ensuite and "his and her" basins". The toilet has a door and the shower would be a semi-frameless shower with two shower heads. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Master Bedroom 6 Walk in robe moves behind bed and the ensuite becomes more closed in with walls. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Thanks guys!!!! If you have any ideas or tweaks on any of them, please let me know as well. Re: Which Master Bedroom - help me pick! 2Mar 30, 2018 10:43 am Agent_009 Hi everyone We have 6 master bedroom designs. Building Monte Carlo 40- Wisdom homes Re: Which Master Bedroom - help me pick! 3Mar 30, 2018 10:46 am I agree, I like the WIR of 6 but the ensuite of either 1 or 2 Re: Which Master Bedroom - help me pick! 4Mar 30, 2018 10:58 am Thanks! I probably should have mentioned we don't think we'll ever use a bath. I probably shouldn't have included ones with baths in this post. Ideally we would ditch the bath and have a massive shower (at least 1800 x 1000) with two shower heads. Which Master Bedroom - help me pick! 5Mar 30, 2018 12:04 pm 4 or 5 as I really like the separation of sleeping space and bathroom. With ensuite 2 for the shower area and toilet with a door and windows Which Master Bedroom - help me pick! 6Mar 30, 2018 6:54 pm How much time do you spend in the bedroom and ensuite. If little, spend less money there and more on other areas. Therefore, bedroom 2, but with a sliding rather than hinged door to the toilet. IMHO, bedroom 3 is just dumb. Re: Which Master Bedroom - help me pick! 7Apr 04, 2018 4:40 pm Thanks for the feedback everyone. We have narrowed it down to two options. Number 6 above and this one below (which I'll call Number 7). Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Number 7 has a door on the toilet and the shower is completely walk through from either side (no glass). What's the thoughts on Number 6 and Number 7? Here is number 6 again: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Thanks!!! Re: Which Master Bedroom - help me pick! 8Apr 04, 2018 6:30 pm Agent_009 Thanks for the feedback everyone. However I do like my loo to have a door. One could be added easily here. Re: Which Master Bedroom - help me pick! 9Apr 04, 2018 6:42 pm Thanks Mrs W. The showers are actually the same size (my fault due to the way I drew it). Shower is contained within the red line: Number 6: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Number 7: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Number 7 you can walk completely through or enter from either side. Number 6 you only enter from the one side. Both showers 1.8m x 1m with two shower heads from the ceiling. Re: Which Master Bedroom - help me pick! 10Apr 04, 2018 7:28 pm Will there be a door between bedroom and ensuite? Waking up to a view of the vanity doesn’t appeal to me! Just my two cents . Between 6 and 7 I like the walkthrough shower best. Re: Which Master Bedroom - help me pick! 11Apr 04, 2018 8:20 pm I like the layouts however it seems like a big space to me for what it is, a lot of tiling. You could fit the same 3 things in a bathroom half the size, only seems worth the expense to me if the space is mostly usable. I prefer the symmetry of 6. I’d put a translam glass slider/s on the entry to the ensuite, wouldn’t bother then with a door to the loo Building Monte Carlo 40- Wisdom homes Which Master Bedroom - help me pick! 12Apr 04, 2018 8:22 pm The entire room could be narrower as there’s a lot of dead space around the bed too. Is it a queen size, or king? The toilet/shower partitioning wall doesn’t need to be centred as you can’t see it, and the toilet only needs a metre. Building Monte Carlo 40- Wisdom homes Re: Which Master Bedroom - help me pick! 13Apr 04, 2018 8:35 pm Thanks again. I am taking all of your feedback on board. We really wanted a powder room but didn't have room. Therefore we have now eliminated some of the dead space in the ensuite to fit in the powder room. I have also added his and her walk in robes back in which I think separates the ensuite and bed nicely (no door on ensuite). Thoughts? If you do, I would put a door on the robes, that way you can walk in and turn on the light without disrupting the other. Otherwise the light from the robes and ensuite would go straight on the person laying in bed. And I also think you should have a door on the WIR, even a sliding door that could be left open most of time but closed off for privacy and keeping bedroom darker. Re: Which Master Bedroom - help me pick! 16Apr 05, 2018 7:23 am I definitely prefer the last one you’ve put together. Door on toilet is a must. Mirror at the foot of your bed is terrible feng shui though if that’s an issue for you? I would put a door there or change the placement of the bed if that’s possible. Ideally you wouldn’t be looking into your Ensuite at the foot of your bed. majestic35.weebly.com Re: Which Master Bedroom - help me pick! 17Apr 05, 2018 8:27 am Thanks gillybean and Rocchet. I'll speak to my wife around the door on the WIR. We thought this may make the room seem smaller? But we will definitely consider this. Actually, a sliding barn door that could be left open most of the time may be the best option. Rocchet - Terrible Feng Shui doesn't really bother us but I guess it's a good point of the bed facing the ensuite. Do you think the bed layout in one of these is better? Much nicer having a view out the window rather than into the ensuite! Also better use of the bedroom space You may still have a case, but your next step is to speak to a lawyer. 3 1632 Thank you so much. This has been very helpful.
