I cant find it anywhere but sure they will be closed till late Jan early Feb https://r.tapatalk.com/shareLink?url=ht ... are_type=t Thanks excited_builders My CSC told me M were closing from 21 Dec - 7 Jan, but that some were coming back on 3 Jan. That will be in the offices of M, but I don't know about onsite. I guess it will be up to many of the tradies that contract to M as to when they come back. I would imagine mid Jan? We are also at the initial stage of building Glendale 42 LE with Metricon. Started as a Standard Glendale 42 but sales agent had it changed to 42 LE and it is actually had less Sqs than standard edition according to the Metricon website. Also kitchen appliance bench is shorter than standard. However we are going to go ahead like this at this point. We also had to go through the council at the very early stage because we had a tree protection zone in the land and had to go back and forth with Metricon and council. Finally council said we don't need a planning permit after we applied for the planning permit given by the plans from Metricon. 1.4k down the drain We have done our colour appointments now waiting for the contract sign in this Feb. Hi Ramee, it’s great to hear of another Glendale 42 going up. Where are you building? What a bugger about $$ spent on your permit! We spent a lot to get our permit. We employed a town planner to do the application, as we didnt want any mistakes or delays. It got approved earlier than expected 😀 Do you have a thread I could follow for your build? Re: Building a Metricon Glendale 42 Limited Edition in Melbo 187Jan 01, 2019 6:12 am Hi shokel1975, Thanks! We are building in Carrum Downs, in a Wattlewood state block of land. It is relatively long block ~40m but because we have a tree protection zone at the front left side of the land we had to move the house 9.5 m from the front and ended up with a 5.5m backyard. We have a future plan for a pool but now it is difficult to do with this setup. They haven't started anything yet hopefully will start a build thread soon. Still changing things after color and electrical appointments, it is going to be a budget build since this is our fist home Re: Building a Metricon Glendale 42 Limited Edition in Melbo 188Jan 02, 2019 6:41 pm Ramee Hi shokel1975, Thanks! Our block is 46m long and we have a 7m setback at front. All up I think our backyard is almost 16m. Re: Building a Metricon Glendale 42 Limited Edition in Melbo 189Jan 06, 2019 6:55 am Wow, That is a long block of land, may I ask where are you building? Yesterday we went again to see a Glendale 42 display home in Rockbank to double check for one last time before contract! all good ! We talk to a sales agent there and they are changing the Glendale 42 limited edition name to different name. According to him there are are few differences between original Glendale and LE versions, one important difference is outdoor room pillar is going to be a wooden pillar in LE instead of bricks(to save costs). We are going to upgrade it to brick pillar as original. We are going to upgrade it to brick pillar as original. We are building in The Basin, outer Eastern Melbourne. We have visited Rockbank many times as it is the exact size we are building. We have based most of our internal colour scheme on this display - it is so much easier to see it in person than trying to visualise from colour swatches. We have also upgraded to a brick pillar and extended the outdoor room to edge of house. Re: Building a Metricon Glendale 42 Limited Edition in Melbo 193Feb 05, 2019 10:26 am I have just been advised by my CSC that our construction drawings are complete and they are being sent over today. I am now trying to guess how many errors will be in them lol! Unfortunately, it is rare that we have received any docs from M and there haven't been mistakes. But at least we are another step towards moving to construction. Building Permits will be applied for this week, so that is great. Now, we just have to get rid of the (now 2) massive piles of dirt/rubbish that were dumped on our block. We have had to put up temp fencing to stop any more being dumped. Anyone need any fill? Another useless expense to get rid of it. Yep, I first saw it early the other week. By the time we came back on the weekend to put up a temp fence, I think this first pile had grown, and there was a 2nd pile there too. I have also seen a pile on the vacant block across from us. Someone has hit the 'jackpot' and found our blocks - so they just dump to save on tip fees. It is definitely someone who is a gardener, or removes rubbish - based on the size of the piles. They are truckloads, not trailer loads Yet another expense for us and time organising the removal.... The amount of concrete, rubble and other junk dumped on vacant blocks around our estate is ridiculous. Though one concreter got caught the other day on film and had to return to clean it up.... It is just so annoying. It still makes me angry thinking about it 2 weeks later Re: Building a Metricon Glendale 42 Limited Edition in Melbo 199Feb 06, 2019 8:49 am This really sucks. I have a neighbour who is dumping on our block... because it used to be his block and he subdivided it. I think he is internally justifying it like it's not hurting anyone and no doubt there will be skips/etc., during our build so his rubbish will just 'disappear'...
