Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Fairmont Homes - Northridge Estate SA 121Oct 09, 2018 3:17 pm Yeah, The FHOG held us back big time. Apparently due to some naming issues in the identities that we provided and in the contract/FHOG paperwork, hopefully it's all sorted now as we had to provide a couple of statutory declarations. A lesson learned here was that it's better to apply via a broker or directly via branch rather than through phone lending specialist. It's so good to see the estate finally taking shape. But we are doing splashback, stormwater, drive way, perimeter paving, fence, landscaping, flooring from outside. Need to save lots of money. If you want, reasonable splashback contractor please let me know. Land settlement done on 28th sep 2018. FBI: 2nd october Right now: Fairmont is waiting for bank commencement letter. Hope they will get it soon. Re: Fairmont Homes - Northridge Estate SA 123Oct 11, 2018 1:02 pm Thats great that it went really well! We are also doing the same as you ourselves except for stormwater - we opted to just go with Fairmont for that. How much were you quoted for your splashback? are you doing glass/mirror? i haven't had a look into quotes for anything yet except for flooring Still got a long way to go! we are waiting on the bank commencement letter too. Its so frustrating having to wait so long! Re: Fairmont Homes - Northridge Estate SA 124Oct 11, 2018 1:20 pm Hi Tina, We are going for mirror splashback and our kitchen is little bit small as well. So they give us tentative price of 1500 while builders quoted us 3500 for same measurement. I think we have to consult with each other for different material choice but with same vendor. What say? Regards, Raj Re: Fairmont Homes - Northridge Estate SA 125Oct 11, 2018 1:53 pm Sounds good to me Rajan. If we can get multiple properties wanting to get the same thing done i am sure the contractors would be happy to provide a good price so that they can secure the jobs. I'll do a bit more research once the build has started and let you know if i come across anyone who is cheaper. Regards, Raj May I ask how much you were quoted for the fencing? Our neighbours sent us a quote for our half and I just want to compare to see if it’s reasonable Re: Fairmont Homes - Northridge Estate SA 128Oct 12, 2018 7:19 am rajan674 Hi Tina, The price for fence is 64m of 1.8 colourbond good neighbour fencing to 3 boundries and 1 access gate is 6012. Regards, Raj Thanks Rajan! I forget that your side needs to cover 3 boundaries. We are lucky that our side the back fence is already up. Re: Fairmont Homes - Northridge Estate SA 137Nov 05, 2018 12:57 pm HI PBN, I have gone through one of the forum and it says "Roof is done almost 3 weeks back and now awaiting for brick work to start, it is taking time and possible reason is the weather i expect. All the corrective actions proposed by the external building inspector are considered and fixed by FH. I really appreciate them to consider it. It gave me more confidence on the approach to hire building inspector and FH's approach to assist customer in such scenario's. I would suggest other people too to hire a third party inspection officer as this will double check the quality of work, since as per contract we are not allowed to go in the site so we cannot identify and raise any poor workmen ship even if we recognize. I had hired the building inspection offer from JIMS Mr. BJ 0400110719, i would recommend him for his integrity of work and quality." I have also spoken to Mr BJ, came across to me as very informative and upfront about the inspection process. First home owner. Building at Northridge estate, Enfield with Fairmont Homes. Re: Fairmont Homes - Northridge Estate SA 140Nov 06, 2018 11:11 am rajan674 Hi Guys, I got an email from SA power network for power installation. Do you guys know any retailer for this and how much would be the charge for this? Hi Raj, I think Fairmont organises this for you. I recall paying them a fee for the power connection. I would forward this email to your consultant who can confirm for you or give you advice on what is required. Ask for references and speak to them. If they are defensive or try to avoid the request, walk. 1 74709 I would never build with Fowler homes. I built with them in 2021 and till date maintenance issues are pending.
