We were so happy with the street name and now we got send a variation to contract about the name change.š What happens if you donāt sign it? š they could have changed it to something easier? The surrounding streets are cole st and Devon st and then You have yutika drive? š¤¢ my friend did warn me that this was happen as it happened to her when she was building in Newton too š so disappointed Re: Fairmont Homes - Northridge Estate SA 23Apr 04, 2018 10:02 pm haha, agreed they could have changed it to something better. I researched about "yutika" a bit, it means "fllower" in Hindi, an Indian language. Even "Mandeville" sound better now:oops:. I haven't even thought about what happends if we do not sign it. Nevertherless we are going to sign and send it away in the morning. On the side note, make sure your name matches exactly in the contract papers with your identity documnets, as our bank rang today to ask us to change the name of my wife in the contract to extactly how it disiplays in the passport. Have contacted our conveyancer to do the needfull. Also need to send them the updated street name. First home owner. Building at Northridge estate, Enfield with Fairmont Homes. Re: Fairmont Homes - Northridge Estate SA 24Apr 05, 2018 8:21 am and "Kestral"... i wonder if any of the other street names are going to change too we are going in to sign tomorrow so i am guessing we will receive the news then about the street name... i am going to tell them that i have strong feelings against the change of the street name! not that it makes a huge difference anyway yup our broker has been very pedantic about our names matching on all the documents but thanks for the heads up. i'll double check the contracts tomorrow to make sure it all matches Re: Fairmont Homes - Northridge Estate SA 25Apr 05, 2018 8:49 am Oh, how exciting!! All the very best for the big sign off. Yeah, do let them know but I doubt anything could be done now. Maybe council could have a change of heart. First home owner. Yeah, do let them know but I doubt anything could be done now. Maybe council could have a change of heart. So we did it! Signed on the dotted line today so off to engineering to get everything sorted now.. we made it very clear how we felt about the street name and our consultant thought it was funny! I told him whoever chose the name needs to be fired! š We decided to go with a thermal insulation rather than the sound proof one as we were told it was either one or the other.. letās hope our street isnāt full of party animals! Re: Fairmont Homes - Northridge Estate SA 27Apr 06, 2018 9:38 pm That's great news!! Congratulations. Let's hope your Engineering repport comes back ok. We had a whooping 28K as footings allowance. I bet fairmont/Fairland could care less about the name change, they'd still be getting their monies worth. Yeah, any sort of insulation is good, we have thermoacoustic batts on external walls and acoustic on internal. I doubt that, infact looks like lots of families are buying in the estate. The least we could hope for is to have great immediate neighbours. First home owner. Building at Northridge estate, Enfield with Fairmont Homes. Re: Fairmont Homes - Northridge Estate SA 28Apr 07, 2018 6:13 am thanks! Yup our footing allowance was 27k with 1.5k soil removal.. I asked them to check how much it was for people who already got their reports back and they told me that the current ones varied from 19k (small courtyard home) up to 35k! Yup I only hope that our immediate neighbours will be better than the ones we currently have! Fingers crossed! Are you opting to get your own contractors in to do your flooring (and other stuff) or are you going with Fairmont to do it all? We are going to do our own flooring, air conditioning and kitchen backsplash... we are also bringing our own electrician in to thread network cables throughout the house as hubby is very particular when it comes to his internet connectivity and tech gadgets! Re: Fairmont Homes - Northridge Estate SA 29Apr 07, 2018 11:46 am Ok, so the allowance does vary quite a bit. I wish our current neighbours moved along with us.ALl of them have been great. We got the landscaping and flooring included in the quote. Just for the fact that I know I won't be have that much spare cash after the settlement. I will be installing my own curtains though. We got free airconditioning/2.7M celing in the promotion. With kitchen splashback, will decide on the selection day. I agree with you hubby there, as the estate will be getting NBN(Hopefullt FTTP), quality cabling and data point loaction is of utmost importance to take full advanatge of high speeds and having a stable and even connevtivity throughout the house. I'll decide that on our electrical appointment day. I have heard Clipsal electric guys are quite good from some other reviews, as long as money constraint is taken care off, I may go with them for all the extra work. First home owner. What we did was we asked Fairmont to put an āallowanceā into our quote for all the things that we were wanted to get done ourselves that way the bank loan will also cover that amount for us to be able to afford it after the build is done. Cause our house is double storey the free air con promo couldnāt be applied to our house so they gave us a cash discount instead.. we ended up deciding to go with our own air con contractor cause we save a few k that way and can put it towards some other upgrades. Although doing it our way does cause a bit more stress as you have to manage your contractors and arrange the timing of it all! I wanted a glass splashback and was told that fairmont charge quite a bit for that style so I opted to get it done myself afterwards Re: Fairmont Homes - Northridge Estate SA 31Apr 07, 2018 5:29 pm Good on you guys. I agree on managing different contractors but it's all worthwhile with the amount of money you would be saving. We are also thinking about having a black glass splashback in the kitchen. Yeah I havenāt decided on what colour yet.. there are just so many decisions to make on so many things! We will be visiting the showrooms ( Supreme kitchens & Direct interiors) to check out standard range & quality of the fittings as well as possible upgrades that we may opt for. First home owner. We will be visiting the showrooms ( Supreme kitchens & Direct interiors) to check out standard range & quality of the fittings as well as possible upgrades that we may opt for. oh we went to look a few weeks back to get an idea of how much we would be spending on upgrades... it all adds up! $30-$40 per door handle, $40+ per door frame, kitchen sink, taps, etc lol it was crazy the amount of things you can change and the ones you don't think of! we've asked our consultant to put in the upgrades we definitely wanted to have to our contract so that when it comes to doing selections, it doesn't feel as painful! We added the following: - extra gas line outside for outdoor bbq/stove - waterproof power outlet outside - front door upgrade to 9200 - front door style selected PMAD 104 - laundry tap changed to mixer tap - broom closet added to laundry - shower niches x2 - additional 2x antennae outlets - upgrade to bathroom light/heat/fan combo - change vanity to drawers rather than cupboards we are also paying to get an extra coat of paint on the walls so its 3 coats rather than 2 oh make sure you check the direction that all your doors open as well... our current house that we live in the main bedroom door opens into our WIR door and it drives us absolutely insane! the architects originally drew one of our doors opening into something as well so we had to get that changed! let me know how you go with selections.. there are so many pretty things that we want but had to pass up on or put on the "do later" list... like my stone top benches i will have to upgrade those later on down the track when we can afford to Re: Fairmont Homes - Northridge Estate SA 36Apr 11, 2018 9:50 pm Thanks for the upgrade ideas and the door directions. We are definately going for 3 coat paint and extra gas point in the alfresco. I triple checked all door directions in the floor plans , looks good. But yeah rest of the upgrades we'll decide during selections time. Still has not visited the the places I mentioned earleir due to work commitments, but looking forward to it. How good are the name change for the streets. Now our street name still sounds great compared to the rest. Besides nothing's gonna top "PULTAWILTA". Cheers hi neighbour! ohhh thats awesome! 17K is really good! you are pretty far along the process then.. did you have any of your pegs missing? I am still waiting for my engineering report to come back which probably won't be until next month... sigh Re: Fairmont Homes - Northridge Estate SA 39Apr 17, 2018 8:12 pm saninaus Hi all, My block is on Devon Street, done my Direct Interiors Selections, got my Supreme Kitchens interview and final builders interview next week. Glad to have another Northridge resident among us. May I ask how did your selections go? Is there enough variation and quality in the builder's range or were you compelled to upgrade to get the quality fittings and furnishings. Wow!! 17k is very reasonable considering we have 28k as the footings allowance. First home owner. Building at Northridge estate, Enfield with Fairmont Homes. Re: Fairmont Homes - Northridge Estate SA 40Apr 25, 2018 5:56 am Hi PBN84, Just wondering if you received your engineering report back yet? How much did the footings end up coming to for you? We received a letter from Fairland notifying us of a change to our contour plan which meant they had to raise the level of our block of land... not sure If this affects our footings...
