We moved into our new HGWA house in December 2017 and have been trying everything that the supermarket and Bunnings can provide to get our charcoal Della Vita floor tiles clean. They are constantly sticky, greasy looking and the footprint marks are driving me crazy. We have tried all sorts of natural products, heavy duty tile cleaners, metho, vinegar, fairy dust etc. but all to no avail.
However, as of today I think I have found a solution! After some serious googling I found a blog post about tile cleaning that recommended a product called XtremeClean which I sourced through Crosby Tiles in Melville. Apparently a lot of tiles have a waxy layer on them when laid and that does not come off with normal cleaners. It also traps all the dirt and grease so your tiles are constantly dirty looking. I have done a small area (about 2mx2m) with the XtremeClean (apply, leave 10 mins, scrub with scrubbing brush, wipe over with plenty of clean water, leave dry or wipe with paper towel) and the tiles are 1000% better. No more greasy mess and no more greasy foot prints! It is pretty labour intensive but if it continues to work I will be a happy girl!
For anyone having issues with their tiles maybe this product will help.
By the way, even though I sound like an ad for the product I really have nothing to do with them, just a happy customer who finally can see an end in sight to the gross floors I have been battling with!
Don't know why HGWA don't advise a proper clean before moving in!

Oh my goodness, I am almost relieved to have come across this post, as I have the EXACT same problem and it is driving me nuts. We moved in 18 months ago and the charcoal floor tiles have got progressively worse. I contacted HGWA who in no uncertain terms said it wasn't their problem! I have tried EVERYTHING. Like nearly every floor cleaner on the market, vinegar, steam cleaners, 4 different mops.. the list goes on! I tried a special product from Godfreys, however I had to get on my hands and knees and rub it off with paper towel and it was far too labour intensive (although did make them look much nicer). I am actually going to pay someone to come out and assess the tiles and possible strip them and ?reseal them.. I will keep you updated! It is such a source of anxiety for me, I would never ever have chosen this tile if I'd known the problems we would have! Xx

Get back in touch with HGWA and insist they send a tile cleaner out to assess them. It is a known problem. After standing my ground HGWA sent out a tile cleaner to assess my tiles and he will be back this Thursday to completely clean the whole floor with acid and a cream cleanser and a big scrubbing machine (at HGWA expense). Apparently there is some sort of wax coating on them that will not come off with domestic products and manual scrubbing. We are not the only ones having problems as HGWA have sent cleaners to other houses before. Good luck!!

An update on the crap HGWA tiles. So the tile cleaner fella came out and did a huge clean. And boy oh boy did those tiles look awesome! But two weeks later they looked just as crap as they did before the super dooper clean. The only way I have found to get rid of most of the marks is to mop them with a heavy duty cleaner, then mop them with hot water, then dry them with a towel. So labour intensive. Takes hours. This method will certainly get them cleaner, but definitely NOT spotless. Today I am trialing a steam cleaner. If I spray the tiles with a water and metho mix, then steam clean, then dry with a towel they look ok, not perfect, but vaguely acceptable (although my threshold for 'acceptable' is VERY low with these abomination of a tile!). Again, labour intensive but slightly less than the 2x mop method. *sigh* If I had the money they'd be ripped up and something decent put down.

You can only match same size tiles to the mm in size. Other than that you go completely different. 1.5mm wall and 3mm floor is bs, you can do whatever you want anywhere.…
