Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Mar 06, 2018 2:43 pm Bulkhead in pantry- When I add up the measurements it looks like there is a gap of 2cm above the overhead cupboard. Not sure why they mentioned 300 deep bulkhead. When you add up (920,660,800 and 300) comes to 2680 which is short by 200mm to my ceiling height 2700. Is this gap going to be between the bulkhead and overhead cupboard. I am concerned why they have drawn two lines above bulkhead. Can you please comment, if your plans would resemble this sort of drawing. Some celing heights do not account for 10mm gyrock and 10mm for flooring, not sure if it is the case here, but my 2700mm heights, the studs were cut longer to take into account flooring and ceiling lining. Re: Bulkhead on plan 3Mar 06, 2018 3:07 pm I am pretty sure there is a small gap between the top of our cupboards and the infill. It is so the cupboards don't scrape on the bulkhead/infill. If you look at my blog, go to 'April 2017' and look at the pic of me holding the champagne (the last pic) the cupboards are behind me and you can see the gap at the top of the cupboard below the infill. The cupboards sit flush with the infill. Or, look at the first pic, which is similar to mine: http://www.justcabinets.com.au/kitchen-cabinets/ I know you have a bulkhead, so it would be a bit different, but I think that is the reason for the space.
