Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Feb 21, 2018 4:08 pm We just paid the deposit to build the Ascot 308. We have slightly modified the downstairs for a more open living feel and the ensuite upstairs for a more of a 'wow' factor.
They were more than accommodating and all modifications were very well priced. Jo (sales office) was a big reason we chose to build with Nuvo. We had other sales people that put us off over companies completely. Very honest and more than accommodating with the 1000's of requests and changes. Timeline- 28/2/18- Preliminary Deposit Paid. Now soil testing, surveying, full plans and final quote 21/3/18- D.A lodged with council. Their town planner was very personable and helpful. 19/4/18- D.A lodged to state council (SARA) (due to building over a tunnel ($6000!) (Our town planner did get us a refund of $5000 which was great!) 1/5/18- Final contract $5,600 more expensive than the estimated contract 20/5/18- Final contract signed and first payment made. Tile selections, floorboard selections, cabinetry, colour selections etc all booked in. 20/6/18- Colour selections done and Building Approval Lodged. 9/7/18 - Building Approval done and AFC plans order (final plans) 23/7/18 - Final plans done (didn't look much different to the original, not sure why it took so long) and signed off. Now time to build 31/8/18- Slab in down! 7/9/18- It is starting to look like a house! Both levels of the framing done! They are powering through! I think the plan you have chosen with the modified downstairs is awesome. It'll really open up the space in that area. We are on the south side, in Eight Mile Plains. Went with the Brighton 31. Re: Building in Brisbane with Nuvo Homes QLD Blog / Review 10Jun 01, 2019 11:33 pm Hi, I have built with nuvo homes, unfortunately we had a terrible time with them. I have come across 2 other families that had the same experience. So I’m just wondering how your build went? Re: Building in Brisbane with Nuvo Homes QLD Blog / Review 11Jul 02, 2019 6:37 pm Im currently building 2 homes with NUVO and very happy. I live interstate and up in Brisbane only on a monthly basis so it is important to have faith in the team to build what was planned, which I have . I get regular updates from the foreman and site manager via photos and emails and if I have questions or phonecalls thye are answered within hours or emails responded to that day. They are building on time and to cost as per the plans approved and getting good feedback from neighbours in the area about the quality of the build. The planning process can be overwhelming but this was also a good experience as Bill and I had many meetings to get the desired design at the desired price and was he always very accomodating but importantly . The block had some challenges to it , but Bill managed to come up with a plan that was affordable but high in quality . Once the building started it was full steam ahead but due to the challenges with the block it was slightly delay ( the only frustration ) but this is common in construction with tougher blocks. . Only one argument which was upsetting with manipulation of the contract. Will upload final pics shortly and complete the blog 0 2181 i thought the flipped plan initially but bec i want narrow pathway from entry to dining (dont like bend), also cannot fit the… 7 12785 It is true that a builder can ignore your independent inspection report as it is not part of the contractual arrangement but that is stupid because he cannot avoid fixing… 9 39912 |
