Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Feb 20, 2018 6:49 pm I have a contract signing appointment in a week. However I have not received any plans or final estimate. I read in the posts that there would be lots of mistakes in plans. I understand that I would be asked to sign the contract then and there and also to pay 5% deposit. The CSC called today and said she will send me the plans and other documents 1 or two days before appointment. I am a little confused how to go about. Could you experienced members please help how to handle this. Re: Metricon contract signing and issues 3Feb 20, 2018 8:19 pm A couple of days before is pretty normal. Our appointment was postponed because they couldnt get the documents ready on time. We were able to correct errors in the plan before and during the appointment. They told me to sign the contract the third time and that the additional corrections (which included floor plan and structural issues) would be fixed before they came onsite. Nope. Didn’t happen. Which led to lots of errors. And I lost count of how many times they failed to consider variations. Totally up to you and as I said, Metricon might have their sh!t together a bit more than Cora Homes- but if I had my Time over I wouldn’t sign anything until every issue was fixed M Y C U S T O M C O R A L B R O N T E 43 ...............Kitchen! 16 Nov 2016 https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=79581 Re: Metricon contract signing and issues 8Feb 21, 2018 4:27 am Drew01 Clean Drew01 We didn't pay on the day, as there were items that weren't correct. We received our contract documents on 25 January and had our appointment with our Sales Consultant on 27 January where we made sure the changes had been made, there were still a couple of minor mistakes (window opening the wrong way, outdoor tap needed moving, door frame needed to be moved over a little). We paid our 5% deposit on 27 January and have now received our final plans from Variations on 19 February and everything is now perfect. Couldn't be happier. Building with M at the moment, and they pretty much only do things as PCV's Trying to get finalised plans with exactly everything corrected was impossible. In the end, we just kept track of every variation we did and make sure they are right during the construction. So far haven't had issues doing it like that. 12 5320 You talk about deletions, are they variations or PS and PC adjustments? pleas list them 1 16556 Need more photos from around the house including your gutters.
