Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Sep 01, 2008 4:22 pm Hi all,
A friend recommended me this forum and I'm glad that he did. Ever since then, I've been on this forum everyday trying to work out what I need to be aware of when building my house. I put deposit down for a block of land in Williams Landing, and I'm thinking to go with Urban 3dge to build the house. I was wondering if anyone in this forum have build with them. We started looking for a builder for a couple months now and found that Urban 3dge have both of us nodding. Went to few more of their display houses and we agreed that we're going to go with Larne1 design with some our own modification, as we went to the sales person on Sunday (yesterday) to discuss if these modification are possible and if the price is right we would probably go ahead with them, we came to shock when the sales person told us that the price has now gone up by 15K!!! http://www.urbanedgehomes.com.au/edgese ... ne_001.htm Now we're trying to find a way around it, I mean... i don't mind not having a theater room instead we can use the space for lounge area, also I don't mind having 3 bedrooms instead of 4. How does Urban 3dge deals with modfications, I'm talking about modifications where they probably could come up with another name for the design. Are they very strict with changes? Because the sales person doesn't seem to mind if we have some changes, but how far are they willing to go with that? If you changed your mind, how would they react to it? Because I don't want to spend more money on Panadol. Thank you in advance and I appreciate any input. Mike Re: Has anyone built with Urban 3dge? 2Sep 01, 2008 4:35 pm Hi Mike,

http://buildinglarne01.blogspot.com/200 ... ready.html That is one example. They made quite a lot of changes to the master bdrm. I also know of a couple who removed the whole laundry area and moved a bedroom and all sorts of things! We've had no troubles with them so far...probably reading my thread will tell you more than I can really tell you here Urbanedge were also happy to give out references as well.. so it may pay to ask them Alan and Thuy in Melbourne Building a second time! ur plans is AWESOME... if you dont mind me asking, how much did that cost u to build w UE on just the house alone...? feel free to PM me if u dun wan it broadcasted. I'm sourcing a builder now.... n getting confused as to who I wanna go with. Re: Has anyone built with Urban 3dge? 7Feb 17, 2009 10:02 am The shelf price was pretty high. I'd have to dig out the numbers though. I think $220k off the top of my head. But when we built they had all the extras included in that price that others charge for (everything from stone benches and carpet through to flyscreens and downlights throughout).
In the end, when we added up the "extras" from PD on to their base price of $180k, the UE ended up being cheaper. From what I've read elsewhere, I don't think they do the "price as displayed" any more though?" Alan and Thuy in Melbourne Building a second time! I don't expect I would use an al fresco area attached to the bedroom very often either, and the WIR looked a little odd in its previous location. However a study as part of the master bedroom also is odd! I prefer to not have to worry about waking my sleeping wife if I am on the computer late at night :P Can anyone tell me what "concealed DP" means? Hi All, we are starting to think of building with Masterpiece Builders in Victoria, has anyone had any feedback or experience with them 0 13587 Hi we are looking to talk to people who have built with them recently. We have signed mid range built contract but identified that a lot of things are not included.… 0 704 I haven’t. But have a Lowe Design home.
