Browse Forums Building A New House Re: KDR - Allcastle Homes Grandworth 45 MK2 82Jun 25, 2018 3:13 pm It’s a scam as the builders want to protect their margin . Not much we can do about it is what makes it frustrating. But could be worse with other builders Re: KDR - Allcastle Homes Grandworth 45 MK2 83Jun 26, 2018 12:24 pm A few of the people at Allcastle have told us the work has slowed down, the backlog is easing off, th ey are pushing now for completions in about 7 months, down from 8 to 10. Our slab was done 3 weeks ago, only the drainage plumbing has been done, no action on the block since. Hopefully frame arrives soon! Could be worse, a claredon house up the road started last October, just had brick work finished. There was whole months when no progress was made.... Re: KDR - Allcastle Homes Grandworth 45 MK2 84Jun 26, 2018 12:28 pm For tiles selection, we were originally told beautiful tiles also, but that has now been changed to colour tiles in wenty. They seem good as well. I guess price comes down to who they use and it likely changes all the time Re: KDR - Allcastle Homes Grandworth 45 MK2 88Jul 09, 2018 1:05 pm did our tile selection, i have to say pricing wasn't too bad, upgrading 4 bathrooms to full floor to ceiling didn't cost as much as Allcastle was quoting before, and we had the benefit of upgrading all the tiles to porcelain. How much per room with the standard range ? Re: KDR - Allcastle Homes Grandworth 45 MK2 91Jul 09, 2018 8:03 pm ymiao4398 we upgraded to better tiles, didn't like the standard range, we wanted bigger tiles, all up we spent about 10k. Like wise . Fingers crossed we can stay below $10k Re: KDR - Allcastle Homes Grandworth 45 MK2 92Jul 14, 2018 5:19 pm it's been a week, and most of the frame has been put up, i think next week they will finish the frame, only left to do is the roof truss. looks like the truss are wood, we building using steel frames. one thing i noticed with the steel frames is they have precut holes for wiring already which is great for future wiring. Re: KDR - Allcastle Homes Grandworth 45 MK2 93Jul 20, 2018 9:11 am frames are done, and i am quite happy with the result, the roof truss are timber, whilst walls are steel. this will make adding ceiling fans to top floor later easier. the inspectors are going in today so we will get our report on monday and pay the next installment. And if you chose timber frame ? They should be pretty free given the housing market has changed drastically this year. Anyone regret building as bank valuation may be less which means cashflow issues ? Re: KDR - Allcastle Homes Grandworth 45 MK2 96Jul 20, 2018 8:14 pm No- just standard type frame, hybrid timber trusses on steel wall frames, their all going that way now. Its in the blacktown area. Have no concerns about bank valuations. I bought and sold in late '16, expecting the market to drop slightly. Im actually suprised by its resilience. Im actually suprised by its resilience. that's strange we did the hybrid too, and i think our build started later then yours, the frames was delivered whilst the slab was drying. we in the blacktown area too. they told us they have ordered everything after we signed the construction plan. waiting 2 months for frames doesn't seem right. Re: KDR - Allcastle Homes Grandworth 45 MK2 98Jul 20, 2018 8:43 pm Yeah, they said the hold up is only affecting certain houses. Dont know why, it is standard grandworth 35. Have to further chase them on Monday. Promises made and broken is what is most disappointing. Each week they say " it will be delivered next week" Re: KDR - Allcastle Homes Grandworth 45 MK2 99Jul 20, 2018 10:10 pm i should be starting sometime in October , just waiting demo to complete when tenants moved out no later than early September Re: KDR - Allcastle Homes Grandworth 45 MK2 100Jul 21, 2018 3:05 pm coppersmith Yeah, they said the hold up is only affecting certain houses.
