Very relaxed setting and I found it went pretty quickly (no major changes). So far, the staff at Fairhaven seem to be quite good and friendly to work with. I may need to do some adjustments if I can't fit it all in my budget. I went with as many standards as possible and I found the cat 1 choices to be pretty reasonable (you could have a nice house with all cat 1/standard items, IMO). Hey, We are building with Fairhaven too. We have our colour appointment in 3 weeks and I was just wondering (if you don't mind me asking) how much the floor upgrade to the Mondo Scotch Oak Rustic (cat 2) was? I absolutely LOVE the color and hoping its not to much. Thanks so much Courtney x Hi Cboi were you still able to choose from the Mondo flooring range? We had our colour appointment last week and were told we cannot! Re: First Home - Fairhaven Homes - Contract Signed 31Apr 27, 2018 6:05 pm 31 Apr 27, 2018 6:04 pm Hey, We had our colours last this week and Fairhaven have changed their flooring supplier so we couldn't choose from the Mondo flooring range. I wasn't to impressed with the range of the new company. Which is a little disappointing Re: First Home - Fairhaven Homes - Contract Signed 32Apr 27, 2018 7:32 pm Hi We desperately wanted MONDO Cutter Oak Sage Grey. Got a shock at our colour appointment last week when told we couldn't have it. Also didn't know we couldn't have white interior paint until late in the selections process. Still waiting to hear back with the upgrade price. Re: First Home - Fairhaven Homes - Contract Signed 33Apr 29, 2018 4:30 pm Hi We will be building with Fairhaven Homes. Bronte191. Had our colour appointment last week and are now second guessing a lot of things. Does anyone know what the standard front door handle is? Anyone upgrade interior paint so they could have white? What was the cost? Re: First Home - Fairhaven Homes - Contract Signed 34May 01, 2018 11:15 pm I was second guessing everything after my colour appointment. It’s very overwhelming trying to decide what colors will go together and I was not prepared at all. I can’t quite remember the standard door handle, we ended up upgrading to a really expensive one to match our wider door and I think it came close to $500. As for the paint, the showed us their colour chart and told us which was the whitest. I don’t remember them charging extra for it though. Re: First Home - Fairhaven Homes - Contract Signed 35May 02, 2018 3:12 am Hi Poniri Sure is confusing making so many decisions at once. We have chosen a bigger door $600+ and upgraded the handle $600+ but have decided to ditch that handle and fit a Samsung keyless lock with digital keypad once we have moved in. We will have a security door and figured that will cover the expensive handle anyway. It's definitely more $$$ to have crisp white paint as 3 coats required instead of 2. Still waiting for an email to tell us the price. What stage are you at? ☺ Re: First Home - Fairhaven Homes - Contract Signed 36May 03, 2018 9:17 am Hi GEOnTREY, Great point you make about the handle. We should have thought about that also. We weren’t actually told anything about upgrading the paint, I’d be curious to know how much extra they do charge though. We have just signed off the final drawings (after 5 different versions) and waiting to start the build in, apparently, 3 weeks time approx. It’s been a lot of back and forth since July last year, but it seems that things may be moving along soon for us. Just reading your above comments also, I hope that we don’t get a call about our flooring no longer being available as we chose the MONDO luxury oak silver How have you found the whole process so far? Re: First Home - Fairhaven Homes - Contract Signed 37May 03, 2018 12:30 pm Hi Poniri Would you like to join my thread? I have another person who just had their colour appointment with Fairhaven. We would love to have you there ☺ viewtopic.php?f=31&t=91867&start=0 Hope that link works? Why did you have 5 different versions of plans? Were you making changes or them making mistakes? We paid the initial deposit in August, felt a little pressured to do so. Now the race is on for our land to be ready to avoid being charged that $1000 per month if it goes over 12 months. Fingers crossed for you with the laminate flooring. When did you have your colour appointment? I have found the whole selection process to be very difficult. Wish we had of had a list of things to choose from prior to the colour appointment. Would have made the decision making much easier. Our salesman Nathan was great and so was Vanessa at the colour appointment. But since then I have sent 1 email that I got a quick response saying she would pass the info onto Vanessa, then I sent another with some minor changes and have had no response at all. That was April 24. Which front door did you choose? Build starting in 3 weeks...that's very exciting! 😀 Re: First Home - Fairhaven Homes - Contract Signed 38Jun 01, 2018 6:08 pm I have been a bit quite lately. Heaps has gone one. Anyway, quick update. My loan has been approved for more than I had originally hoped for. I decided to aim high with my application and to my surprise they came and said yes to the extra $14k I just have some paper work to complete and hopefully it will all start soon! Stroud2512 - Close. Take lots of photos at slab and frame stages when you don’t even know what you are taking photos of in case you need them later if any issues arise. Trade quality varies from build to build with the same builder. Look forward to reading updates. Re: First Home - Fairhaven Homes - Contract Signed 40Jun 01, 2018 9:54 pm To all those building or have already built with Fairhaven Homes...could you please tell me what colour ceilings doors architraves skirting boards etc you are having and if it was standard or an upgrade in price? ☺ We are looking to do a KDR with fairhaven homes, Have seen plenty of good reviews about them pre construction and plenty of negative reviews about them during contruction… 0 18028 This is 100% true.
