Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Metricon Allure 48 QLD (Vantage 48 in MEL)...Now Lavell 3May 23, 2018 12:37 am RR80 Hi! We've just committed to building the Allure 48 in QLD, which I believe is the same as the Vantage 48 in Melbourne. The Allure 48 no longer exists in the Designer range and is now only available as the Lavelle 50 in the Signature range. We were torn torn about whether to build it under the designer range or the signature range. The base price is $220k more and don't think that the extra inclusions warrant this? Anyone had any experience or thoughts on this? I also wanted to put it out to the brain trust and those of you have built or are building with Metricon... I've attached our floor plan below and some of the changes that we are considering: - re-orientate the kitchen from the original plan (kitchen was originally facing the family room) - Extend the laundry - Remove the WIL downstairs and make a bigger WIP - Increase the size of the WIR to the master bedroom - Increase both ceiling heights to 2.7m - Added a grand outdoor room and balcony off the Master Bedroom - Added a workshop We were wanting to add in a mudroom but not sure how it will work? Any other ideas or things we should be considering with a floorplan before moving on to the next stage? We are still wanting to build this house but searching for the right block. Hopefully that will be soon! Only concern is if we don’t build in the next few months, we can’t extend the price and deal we got as its now moved in to the signature range. Fingers crossed Re: Metricon Allure 48 QLD (Vantage 48 in MEL)...Now Lavell 5Jul 31, 2018 7:41 pm Just saw this post. Good luck RR80. $220K is a lot of money to upgrade with (between designer and signature)... I'd understand why you would like to keep your deal. Deal-wise though M seem to change their promos over the years but roughly just translate to the same value. Also, I found that the different Metricon plans work pretty well throughout. We were originally keen on the Sovereign but the design was too long for our mildly sloping block. Upon the suggestion of the sales person, we then had a look at the Franklin and found it matching our needs similarly. Moreover, you could always re-configure a few internal walls to have the plan suit your need. All the best with your build. I'll keep an eye out.
