It’s nice to be surprised by the progress, I’m dying to go and see what happened at ours today
See how the bricks look with mortar, which ones did you pick?
Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Barbie Dream House - First Build in Port Stephens 155Jul 07, 2018 7:53 am Gyprock done, waterproofing done, glass installed in the picture window, the electrician was onsite yesterday pulling cables through walls and there was a pile of cornice waiting in the garage on Sunday. We got a call from the builder on Tuesday asking if we'd be willing to reselect tiles with a new supplier. I feel our tastes have changed a LOT since actually seeing the house go up so I'm really excited! Walk through with new company tomorrow, then actual selection next Saturday. I'd love to do floor to ceiling tiling to the ensuite and a larger format tile throughout, all in a much darker colour than previously chosen. Starting to think more about driveway now. I think we'll be moving in without one and waiting a few weeks to save up for black exposed aggregate. I also like how you have wide portico pillars. Go around and count control joints for brick make sure they have placed control joints to drawing. I have two missing control joints. Re: Barbie Dream House - First Build in Port Stephens 158Jul 07, 2018 6:19 pm Your place is going to be stunning! Re: Barbie Dream House - First Build in Port Stephens 160Jul 08, 2018 3:45 pm Excitement overload following new tile selection this morning -- we have a kitchen!! The dark and moody colour scheme I've agonised over for months seems to be a winner! The lovely tile lady was a bit shocked we're at this stage without tiles, she's going to confirm stock and send us a pricing to sign off on tomorrow so everything can be ordered ASAP. Tile Direct at Beresfield are brilliant! Our new majority floor tile is charcoal with a linear almost timber grain pattern, and graphite grout. The grout and tile colours look almost seamless! All wet areas (floors and walls) have a lighter grey marble tile, with misty grey grout. Ensuite will hopefully be tiled to the ceiling if it doesn't cost too much! Main bathroom and powder room are tiled 1000mm high. Butler's Pantry and Laundry splashback will be white subway tiles laid in a stack bond, with white grout. Our only upgrades will be the graphite grout and the floor to ceiling tiles. I'm really pleased with what we've chosen and omg I just hope it's all in stock!!
