Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Plantation Homes - Trinity Lux Q1 @ Thornlands 22Mar 24, 2018 10:30 pm Colour appointment went well, thanks Tribe. It took all day - even though we knew exactly what we wanted and only made a few small changes on the day. I was so surprised that the couple sitting next to us in the studios was finished before lunch. They were also building a double story home but just seemed to pick all the standard inclusions (with a few upgrades here and their from what I could overhear) yet we took and extra 3-4 hours to finalise our appointment. I was so surprised when listing to the couple as hey did not seem to have a clear plan of what they wanted and just sort of went with the flow - where as I brought on carpet, tiles, paint samples and laminex samples that were not even displayed in colour selections at plantation. I went through everything in detail and made sure everything was as I wanted. They were so impressed with our colour selections that our colour consultant showed it to her manager whilst we were out at lunch (plantation shouted us lunch at a cafe around the corner). They have submitted our plans to council and he developers for approval. We have our electrical appointment on Tuesday and then we have to wait for final prices/drawings/ approvals to happen before the build can begin. I’m hoping they will be able to break ground in May and start the build. Looking forward to seeing it all come together. :-D Modified Miami 31- Brighton Homes https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?t=91265&f=31&p=1789112#p1789112 Re: Plantation Homes - Trinity Lux Q1 @ Thornlands 25Mar 25, 2018 8:16 pm Glad to hear it all went so smoothly Sam and your happy with all your selections. What tiling have you selected for your wet areas? Lovely external colour scheme with the black, grey and white. Have you gone a light oak floor or the dark timber? I have to agree with you about being prepared for the colours appointment, our builder is at north lakes and it’s a hell of a drive so they let me do my colour selection via email and phone which was super easy and non restrictive. Sounds like you had a great experience too. Very exciting you have been lodged to Council and the developer for approvals, fingers crossed for you everything comes back quickly. Good luck with your electrical appointment, will you get Plantation to do the lot? Will you guys have pendants as features? Re: Plantation Homes - Trinity Lux Q1 @ Thornlands 26Mar 25, 2018 8:30 pm Touchstone Nero Rectified Polished Porcelain from Beaumont Tiles. Going with the light oak colour. The dark brown is the front door, laundry door, butlers pantry door and staircase. We are doing a mixture with electrical - some things supplied and installed by Plantation and we are having an electrician come in and replace the basic batten lights with LED’s. Every light in the house will be matte black and we are getting black light switches to match. Feature pendant is a 1.8m long led light bar above the kitchen island bench we purchased from beacon lighting. http://www.beaumont-tiles.com.au/All-Pr ... 8P&group=1 https://www.beaconlighting.com.au/ledlu ... black.html Re: Plantation Homes - Trinity Lux Q1 @ Thornlands 28Jul 03, 2018 1:11 pm Hi Essie, Our house is still very much so in progress so I can't comment on the final outcome now. What I can tell you is I found the admin stage very slow and painful. Now that this is finished and we are into the build, everything is flowing much better. Everything looks great so far and I am very happy with the quality of the build thus far. Just be prepared to spend the extra cash if you are wanting to get something like the display houses. Things are finally progressing nicely. The admin stage of the house took 7 months from start to finish. That admin stage would have felt never ending We're looking to build - either in Rochedale or Thornlands... it's a hard trade-off to overcome, but it's pretty tempting that we could build exactly what we want in Thornlands, whereas to do it in Rochedale will be a fairly hefty mortgage. Looking forward to seeing some more updates! Re: Plantation Homes - Trinity Lux Q1 @ Thornlands 32Aug 09, 2018 7:31 am Hi Sam, Any news on the build ? Has it started coming along nicely ? I have posted a couple of photos of what stage I am at ATM . Things are moving quiet nicely now , I think the paperwork stage just seems to drag on . Hope everything is going well with you guys. Looking forward to seeing some more updates! Yes, we looked at Rochedale also - but we would have had to compromise with a much smaller house. I really wanted the space for pool, to be able to have a triple car garage and still enough room up the side for a boat or caravan. This would have been extremely expensive in Rochedale. I also like to be close to the ocean (we can actually just see the ocean from our balcony) and we are walking distance to cinemas, restaurants and shops at Thornlands. Hey Tajana, I'm just about to post some new pics. The house is going really well so far. I'm very happy with the quality and progress of the build. Plantation is doing a great job. I'm looking forward to moving in later in the year. I noticed your neighbours have already moved in! Your house looks awesome from the outside - we drove past it today. I'm sure you are excited to see it finished also! Re: Plantation Homes - Trinity Lux Q1 @ Thornlands 35Aug 19, 2018 3:10 pm House update 19 August. Outside is mostly completed and inside has been gyprocked and set. Still no kitchen, bathrooms, front door, garage doors or internal stairs yet. Re: Plantation Homes - Trinity Lux Q1 @ Thornlands 36Aug 19, 2018 6:32 pm Thank you, I did it all by my self lol. I am a little worried about the outside paint colour selection, but will wait until it’s fonished before I stress . Your house looks fantastic , so open and so much space . Alfresco doors look fantastic . Hopefully the rest of the build goes smoothly for you guys . Ask for references and speak to them.
