Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Aug 31, 2008 12:16 pm we were excited and look forward to our new house completion but after several issues on the way we are over it. Pretty stressful process for us and others from the review I have read online to date. On final inspection day we noticed few defects and told the site manager. He replied "I know". Well.. why hasn't it been rectified before final inspection. Strongly reccomend getting your own building inspector because there were few defects we weren't aware of; some of these looked normal. About $495 for single house for pre handover inspection. There were about 15 defects which h3nl#y has agreed to rectify. Its taking them forever because they are hardly on site. Was told it will be finish next week...... hope so.. Re: building a new home from : ) to : ( 2Sep 03, 2008 12:24 pm We were a bit the same. Our house got put up really quickly and then inspections took ages. In the end it ran over the contract date. At the time it is annoying and frustrating.
Dont worry about it too much because at the end you will get a house that will have very few issues. They do 1000 inspections and they will bring you in with some that still need doing. All that is wrong with our house is there is 1 rough patch on a wall. Ensuite toilet. Thats it. Once you are in your house you wont even remember you were waiting. Im still forgetting to email them about going over contract date. Re: building a new home from : ) to : ( 3Sep 05, 2008 1:08 pm [quote="badzy"]quote]
