The best looking one they have now available up here from Metricon in the signature range in the Bayville, and in the comparable size to what I'm building with Porter Davis, the Bayville base price was starting at over $600k. At the time I was looking to sign, that was $200k more than the house I'm building from Port Davis's prestige range... oh and it didn't even offer all ensuited bedrooms for the price.
I've compared the inclusion lists side by side and can't see how Metricon can justify a price difference that big.
I still own the house I built with Metricon nearly 9 years ago now and there's still nothing wrong with it, the build quality was great...though it might have helped that my uncle was one of the big wigs at Metricon in QLD at the time, so extra attention was given to our build.
How would it leak through the ceiling over a blocked toilet if you have floor wastes in your bathroom?
Sorry I’m late responding. It leaked right through when the toilet was blocked. Even when the bath overflown in went right through to roof down to the theatre. They just wouldn’t seal all the floor.
Metricon can be expensive with their homes. I just built the doulton 56 but extended by 11 squares. Has 5 bathroom/ensuite plus a powder room. Built in the designer range but by the time we finished it was a signature range. It’s considered Metricon biggest job on new land in 40 years. So they did things very cautiously. They even got CSR to do our hebel. And not actual tradies. We are pretty happy with it.
Your house looks beautiful. Can’t wait to see the end product. Did they give you a handover date?

That doesn't sound right to me. The subfloor underneath your tiles has to be waterproofed. This prevents any water coming through to the floor below if you have any cracks in your tiles/grout, otherwise all water leaks on top of the tiles would go through the floor waste. If water was leaking to the floor below, it sounds to me like it must have been leaking behind the gyprock, which sealing the tiles would make no difference.
I've seen your build thread, it looks very impressive, such a large home and it looks beautiful. Can't wait till we get to move into ours.
No handover date yet, but hoping mid to late November now
