Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Jan 07, 2018 7:34 pm Floor plan 2Jan 07, 2018 11:19 pm Plan looks awesome! I can’t see any issues, the only thing I’d consider changing if it were me is the doors between dining and alfresco - I’d change to a 3 panel stacker so the opening is bigger and also as the middle opening doors tend to annoy me. I’d rather move one door to open up than two. I’d also consider a dedicated tv spot. Maybe a recess in a wall with a bulkhead over or something similar. Just makes everything look a bit neater once all the furnitures in but again that’s just my opinion. But theyre pretty minor things, everything else looks good! Re: Floor plan 3Jan 08, 2018 11:27 am Based on my biggest regret since moving into our house would be to have a cavity slider inti the activity room. Ours usnfurther away from the main living g from yours but the kids can be so noisy, particularly watching TV. It would also be good to close off any mess they may make in there. Re: Floor plan 4Jan 08, 2018 2:18 pm I have just completed my build with Redink. I love my house so good luck I had no issues with them. I am currently getting my wir and store cupboard fitted out and all of them have commented on how low builders put the shelf and hanging rail. If you are considering a post completion fit out I would ask for it to be higher or not at all. Mine have to be ripped out and placed higher up. @Madora Dreamer Re: Floor plan 5Jan 08, 2018 3:38 pm Your plan is similar to mine so it must be good lol The only thing I might suggest is adding cavity sliders into your ensuite, for privacy as needed. Not really obvious when they are open, but handy if you need them closed! If you are in the ensuite with the light on, at evening/night, or a darker morning, with the bedroom curtains open, you could see straight through from the street. Just something to consider (I know it looks better without doors). My blog: tashandpaul.wordpress.com Re: Floor plan 6Jan 15, 2018 11:55 pm Madora Dreamer I have just completed my build with Redink. We are also looking at RI to build, and was thinking I'd save some money and fit out scullery/WIP myself. Would love to hear your thoughts!
