I was told 3 colours max on the facade. We have monument roof, gutters, facade and windows. We then have wallaby on the garage render and surf mist on the rest of the render, our cladding and garage door. Our feature brick is pgh Eclipse. We also have boral eclipse for the driveway. Second photo is on a cloudy day pre landscaping. I found dune went more brown than grey when I tried out a sample pot of paint, so it depends if you want a grey or brown tone to your house. Personally I would switch the wallaby for surfmist, and make the surfmist cladding and garage door monument. Regardless, the garage door needs to match something else or you’ll always get 4 colours. I say keep the dune, it ties in nicely with your bricks. I think the mock-up you posted would look better with a black front door. From someone who’s had pebblecrete before it is horribly painful to walk on in bare feet. I hated it and wanted to concrete over the top but ended up selling that house and moving. I’d never have it again. viewtopic.php?t=89059 Re: House Colours Need opinions 9Jan 08, 2018 5:35 pm Aphsta im glad you like it. Im a concreter and as horrible as it feels on the feet, it looks wonderful done right and sealed. Re: House Colours Need opinions 10Jan 08, 2018 9:40 pm That looks good too. Much more of the dune tones in that photo. Im a concreter and as horrible as it feels on the feet, it looks wonderful done right and sealed. It’s certainly not the look I have the issue with as it does look rather nice and is having a comeback at the moment. My house had it over the alfresco floor adjoining the pool so it was very badly positioned as the main purpose was to walk in bare feet to get in the pool. Good luck your selections viewtopic.php?t=89059 Re: House Colours Need opinions 12Jan 10, 2018 12:23 am 4 colors will make it a bit busy. My suggestion will be to replace Night Sky with colorbond Monument. Night Sky sometime is a bit too harsh whereas Monument is very soothing, blends nicely and looks really good for garrage doors or front doors. I have picked colorbond Monument for garrage door, facia, gutter, window. I chose a dark grey brick. I picked Surfmist for rendering, which will break the dark tone and lift up the colors. For cladding initially I liked Wallaby from the net search but when I saw wallaby in person I found it a bit too brown. Since I was after a grey-black-white color sceme, I ended up with Gibraltar grey from Taubmans Paint to match the grey brick and keep only 3 colors- grey, black n white. I have attached 2 sample photos of Monument on garrage door and my neighbour's front door and 1 photo of my house color scheme. Head to a metal and decide on which profile you will use first. Nice pick with the paint colours! 1 26320 |
