Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Aug 30, 2008 10:27 pm okay guys,
i asked for a 3 pot drawers instead of 2 ages ago and PD came back with the standard answer" we dont do that" well now in there new promo they are of course offering 3 drawer pot drawers in the same house. our kitchen is due to got in the next 2 weeks.......... what are my chances of asking them to do it ( not so nicely) i know they will have to redraw plans etc.. and we will have to pay ( quite happy to do this) any advice on what to ask or say to my csc.. my feeling is it will have to be escalated. i am so peeved about this and this is my main issue so far with them- they have been really good . i really want 3 pot drawers have i got a chance?? please help Re: Help needed from my homies!!! PD querie 2Aug 30, 2008 10:33 pm We are having two banks of three drawers. I asked PD to make the bottom drawer larger than the other two, reply was "we don't do that" sound familiar??? Then I went to the Churchill display and saw that they had done the drawers exactly how I wanted them. We exchanged a few words on this and they basically refused to do it. So, I'm having three all the same size which will be fine. What got me cross is that the reason why they wouldn't do my request was because I wouldn't be able to fit a pot in it!!!! I don't want pots in the drawers I want them for tupperware and lunch boxes so the smaller ones would have been fine. Anyway...........
Oh and the cost was $86.20 per bank. Good luck with your request Happy at Home Re: Help needed from my homies!!! PD querie 3Aug 30, 2008 11:09 pm My initial thinking would be that even if they agree to do it the variation cost won't be worth the expense. If fixing is two weeks away the wheels turn far too slowly at PD for that.... Re: Help needed from my homies!!! PD querie 4Aug 30, 2008 11:47 pm I'd be very very very upset!
Do you have emails saying 'We don't do that'? If you do you could send those with the somethign about the promotion and also about the display home that has them and demand that they supply htem since you were * to. Re: Help needed from my homies!!! PD querie 5Aug 30, 2008 11:52 pm I can't believe they said they couldn't do that!!!!!!!!! Like Toni, I'm having 2 banks of 3 - I felt the 2 were TOO big!
JoBen...good luck, and I hate to sound negative, but your cabinets would have been ordered at the start of your construction process, and called up weeks ago, so I doubt they'll change that sort of thing for you - I'm not saying don't ask - go for it! I'm just saying don't hold your breath! Toni - I CAN'T believe their reason was that you can't fit pots in the drawer!!!!!!!!!! What the? WHO CARES!!!! And, more to the point, it's none of their business what you choose to use the drawers for!!!!!!!!! That has got to be one of the most ridiculous things I've heard! So, if youwanted pink laminex, and they didn't like that, would they say "No, you have to have brown!"????????? Ridiculous! Sorry....it's just that some of the cr@p that PD spout....... Solidarity, not solidity.......The Lexicon of Life Re: Help needed from my homies!!! PD querie 6Aug 30, 2008 11:53 pm I don't understand this at all. So PD have set cupboard/drawer sizes and they can't be altered? Why? I don't understand.
When we did the kitchen we changed cupboards to pot drawers and they could do any depth for the drawers as long as it added up to the total height. We have sets of pot drawers with three (one shallow and two deep) and we also have a set of drawers where there is three drawers and then two top drawers that are very shallow for school notices etc. I don't think we ended up with anything in the kitchen cabinetry that was standard. I know I'm with M but what is PD's reason for being so inflexible? Jo I leave you to fend for yourself, figure things out yourself. Terrence Malick Re: Help needed from my homies!!! PD querie 8Aug 31, 2008 5:25 pm I also changed from 2 banks of 2 pot drawers to the 2 banks of 3 pot drawers so it can definatly be done. I was charged $788 for this - we didn't get pot drawers in our promo.
I'm so sorry this happened, I would atleast give it a go, tell them you were told no and that you now know it can be done, tell them your not happy. They can change it, its just a matter if they will do it My karma ran over your dogma Hi All, I engaged a tradie to install concrete retaining wall 600-800mm high over 32 meters in Victoria.
